This is a guy who was known as Tyrion on the Looksmax.org forum, which is associated with old incel forums (PUA Hate, Sluthate, lookism.net). He probably could have gotten a normal double-jaw surgery and looked genuinely better, but he demanded too much of his surgeon, and looks terrible as a result.

It's so strange and unnatural. It looks like Jay Leno's chin was plastered on top of a little boy's face.
I've browsed that forum for a moment out of a sheer fascination with the trainwreck (mostly since these types started popping up on my native-language web too). The way they shoop their selfies into the "ideal" versions makes you think they must be heavily on the spectrum or have face blindness. Like you got an artist to draw caricatures of attractive people.
PSL / "Looksmaxxer" types have an autistic obsession with forward growth, which they see as the primary measure of facial attractiveness. Not looking like a fucking chimpanzee is "recession" in their view. This dovetails with the rampant racism these guys engage in (some races are more naturally forward grown than others).

This dude is squinting and tilting his head in the "after" photo to try and exaggerate his forward growth. If you overlay the two pictures, and rotate the second one to compensate for his tilting, you can see the actual extent of the surgery, which, while still a botch job, is nowhere near as dramatic as his odd angles and poses make it out to be.

This is one of my pet hates, 'cosmetic' surgery.

I honestly think it should be banned but there's too much money in conning unhappy people into making a mockery of themselves to try and look different.

And most of these terminal cases sure achieve that...they sure look 'different'...they look like what I would reckon demons would look like if such a thing was real.

I'm no oil painting, but there is no way in the world I would dare to try and improve matters...you are treading the path to a personal hell of which there is no escape.

A little off topic, but I never actually read/went on an internet safari of an incel forum (which I'm guessing that is). The OP of that post you linked makes me feel like I stumbled into a tribal civilization out in the middle of the woods or something. Talking about "chads" and saying "chadpillled" unironically, Christ. Thank you for linking that post and making me further hate the internet.

I don't think it's fair to call this autism. Forward growth is associated both with good oral health (lack of teeth crowding, wide airways for breathing, etc.) as well as striking facial features (lots of models have these kinds of features). What is fair to ask is whether a person who lacks forward growth can get those same aesthetic benefits from DJS. From what I've seen, the answer is sometimes, but not usually.

A lot of people on the forum forget that double jaw surgery is primarily a functional procedure, and is used to solve symptoms like sleep apnea and the most extreme forms of teeth misalignment. You often see guys on those forums say that a DJS was botched if the person does look better afterwards. I think a lot of them are fairly young men (teens and twenties) who think that looking better will solve all of their problems.

Where do you draw the line? Should braces be banned, for example? Not everyone who gets braces has functional issues. If you don't believe in procedures to make people look different, should only people with functional issues be allowed to get braces?

My personal view on plastic surgery is that fixing developmental flaws or injuries is fine (such as braces or the double jaw surgery we were discussing), but doing things which change well-developed body parts is wrong. For example, most cases of rhinoplasty are wrong, because that's fundamentally telling a lie about who you are. Your nose is perfectly functional, you just want to look like someone else. Being an Armenian and trying to make your nose look more straight (many such cases), for example, is a lie, because your nose comes from your genes, and there is nothing fundamentally more a part of who you are than your genetic code. Telling a lie about that kind of thing is downright criminal.

But yeah, get that scar removal. Life is short, why not look good?

I've spent an inordinate amount of time lurking and documenting incel forums; it makes me feel like an ethnologist studying some remote jungle tribe, trying to wrap my head around an alien language and culture.

I'm only partially being sarcastic when I say that PSL borders on being a religion. It has a pantheon of gods (Gandy, Chico, O' Pry); a totalizing notion of the sacred and the profane (hardy, masculine and dimorphic vs. neotenous and dysgenic); a distinction between elect (slayers) and untouchables (birdcels); a warped, but objective, yardstick by which to measure virtue (how many plastered 19-year-old sorority sluts would be willing to fuck you); nymphs ("Prime JB") and gorgons ("roasties"); a holy scripture (PubMed); a notio of predestination (evo-psych); and, most notably, a process of physical purification and apotheosis through "looksmaxxing", in which you literally reshape yourself to fit the mold of the idealized Other.

There are so many great books about Internet culture that have yet to be written. Anthropologists need to step up their game for fuck sake.

Well, yeah, being recessed is bad for both health and aesthetics; but most incels are face-blind autists with no conception of what a normal person looks like, who think that they'll be condemned to a life of frustrated wanking and street-sweeping if they haven't ascended to gharial mode by age 22.

Very astute. A few traits that I would add (perhaps more cult-like than religious):

-Suffering as a mark of pride. For them, being as pessimistic as humanly possible shows how brave and self-aware you are. Normal people who enjoy life are just delusional morons to them.
-They use cruel laughter to brainwash themselves. They can't deal with actual differences of opinion, so they mock people by accusing them of being unable to handle the truth. You constantly hear "Just lol" and their favorite "cope," plus the classic Cage/Banderas gifs.
-Policing of opinions within the group. For instance, their aesthetic preferences are for men who stand out visually (slightly unusual-looking or striking men, like male models) and women who have a kind of generic beauty (Instagram models and influencers). I am sometimes taken aback by how similar a lot of the women they post look.

I agree on the jaw surgery part. I have had it myself, among other surgeries to fix a developmental thing. From being a part of online communities for jaw surgeries and reading about other people's experiences, it's done because there are legitimate health issues going on. Misaligned jaws can cause breathing issues, smaller airways, eating problems, etc. I remember one group has someone try to advertise their "plastic surgery show looking for participants" that got laughed off. Fixing the aesthetics of an under/overbite is a nice bonus, but if you have a bite issue that severe it's because things are bad enough under the surface.

But, I disagree that people shouldn't be allowed to do minor plastic surgery. Who cares if someone just wants to alter the shape of their nose a little? Or go up a cup size or so? How the hell is it lying? It's like getting a piercing or perming your hair. It's more permanent, but you have no obligation to "not lie to your genetic code." If someone asks if you had work done and you say no when you have, that's tacky. But not illegal. What I do find bad about plastic surgery is when it's in excess, or to an extreme extent. That's a matter of plastic surgeons using better judgement over money-grubbing, and people getting help for body dysmorphia.

It's lying, because there are people who naturally have large breasts and straight noses (to use your examples), and it's not a costume, it is a fundamental part of who they are, something they were born with. It's not like getting a piercing at all, because everyone who is pierced has gotten pierced by choice. Do you understand the distinction I'm trying to make?

To use a common example, not of surgery but of appearance manipulation in general, blonde people now have the stereotype of being shallow, dumb, promiscuous airheads. This is bolstered by the kind of people who have chosen blonde hair dye. Don't you think that's a little unfair to people who naturally have blonde hair, who might be none of those things?

It's a bad sign in regards to your character when someone calls you out on bad behavior, and your response is "WELL I DON'T HAVE TO DO THAT/IT'S NOT ILLEGAL".

You're right, it's not illegal. Being a decent person is based on doing things you don't have to do. It's called integrity.

What I do find bad about plastic surgery is when it's in excess, or to an extreme extent. That's a matter of plastic surgeons using better judgement over money-grubbing, and people getting help for body dysmorphia.
I don't actually mind the ridiculously fake plastic surgery so much. It's an unhealthy subculture, but at least everyone knows what they are about.

...what? People who get plastic surgery get it by choice, too. I'm not even touching the second one. There's so much to unpack, but I'm not a moving service.

Ignoring the rest of your points, I genuinely don't know what you're trying to say with this part.

As far as I can make out, @believe all women's position is that:
  • immoral/stupid/irresponsible people are predisposed to / the main demographic of plastic surgery
  • when (enough) people use plastic surgery to take on a particular trait, that trait becomes associated with those people (as opposed to the people who are born with it)
  • ergo, popular plastic surgery traits / cosmetic modifications are now associated with immorality/stupidity/irresponsibility
  • which is an act of injustice against people who naturally have those traits because they will now be thought of in the same way, despite not being from the "evil" plastic surgery demographic
My guess is that Believe is butthurt that someone he didn't like got plastic surgery and now has a trait that he felt special for being born with.

My reading comprehension is fine. Your point is just fucking stupid.
No, you made a stupid response to a simple and straightforward point I was making. I was making a point about why I differentiate natural and unnatural appearances. Obviously I wasn't saying/implying that plastic surgery is not a choice lol. Saying "there's a lot to unpack" is a pretentious, empty response.

My guess is that Believe is butthurt that someone he didn't like got plastic surgery and now has a trait that he felt special for being born with.
No, I just don't like phony people. I don't like people presenting themselves as something they're not. "Corrective" surgeries and procedures are not phony, in my opinion.

The only example I can think of when reading believe all women's posts is a story from China where the man married an attractive woman, but then their kids came out with generically unattractive Asian features. Because mom got all these surgeries before they hooked up. They divorced and the man sued her (and WON) - the story itself was exposed as a hoax but I am sure there are instances of this happening.

There was also a sitcom episode where the woman got a nose job, had a baby, baby had huge nose, father saw pics of wife's parents all with huge noses, hilarity (supposedly) ensued.

If you're a breeder looking for attractive children, might want to ask your equally-self-involved partner about their procedures.

I'm pretty sure that first story/hoax is based off of this Taiwanese (?) ad. Last I heard the female model was trying to sue because it ruined her career after the picture went viral. She also made it a point to say the kids were photoshopped to look like that.

Yes, its extremely false. There is tons of news reports on it.

'Jessica' Alves got a gastric sleeve surgery because he gained 35kg since starting his transition. This surgery seems pretty extreme for that amount of weight, right?
