Do not search for ideological coherency in Tats. We're talking about a man that went through almost the entirety of the political spectrum (bar maybe extreme left-wing) from watered-down Christian American liberalism to esoteric Nazism, with a sizeable period of hardcore feminism. The guy is simply mind broken and angry at everything.

It's a shame because in the past he's shown he's actually a pretty solid writer with his understanding of what makes characters likeable even with flaws... and then all of that shit goes out the window when he gets into politics. he's just so completely insane whenever he pushes his political views that you have to wonder if it's really the same guy.

It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. For some reason I remember Obama's second term as very stagnating period of time, barelly existing, slowly suffocating. 2015-16, the economy picked up a bit so I had a better memory of those days, 2008-2012 there was a lot of doomposting but I remember having a fucking blast on /x/ (I'm a fucking newfag). But 2013? 2014? since this is the webcomic thread I'll say that I at least remember Questionable Malcontent and bullying Jeph Jacques on Twitter but not much else.

He's been out for years. He has been getting preacher lately. I did like some of his horror and short stories but his other work is a turn off, mostly because, like I said he got preachy. At least his style finally changed a bit.

Why do you suppose that is? I always figured it was like with speedrunning, when you have a community of people who practically live on the internet and have a wholly internet based culture stuff like that is bound to happen

That's a good question and I agree with you comparing it to the speedrun community, being online all the time they get exposed to weird fetish stuff and things like that. I think the guy that does Goblins trooned out because he's messed up. The fact that his mother told him from a young age that she was raped and then he turned it in to a revenge arc in his comic is sick, and then he had the mental breakdown when feminist told him it was sick. Like his mind couldn't comprehend that a woman hated him when he was a male feminist. I seem to remember him ranting about that in the post he made after he came back from that. That guy is messed up. The dude that did Girly was just porn sick, his comic was filled with lesbians lesbians lesbians. I don't know what could have caused the author of Gastrophobia to troon out. And then the girl that did the other Jack became a pooner and sex obsessed. There are just so many that do this.

I like how this perfectly demonstrates exactly why the sparkles and other subtler highlights are preferable; because it looks way better and doesn't have to be permanent.

Most games would only have the sparkles even activate when you were in a certain radius, as well.

Afaik the “sister” folk etymology comes from the meme a bit ago of labeling smuggies and comics like these with the phrase “this was made with genuine hatred” or something along those lines, to limply the creator of the meme knew the subject personally.

I know why millennials are mad at it, though. It’s a targeted summary of many real people’s existences in that age group. Quirk chungus and manchild aren’t just stereotypes, they’re thousands of real couples living in their insulated childish millennial bubbles RIGHT NOW.

He ruined the classic joke. Why the hell is it a girl in the last panel? For those of you who don't know, the original joke goes similarly, except the boy says he had sex with a girl with loose morals and at the end another boy asks him what he got and he tells him 10 hail Marys and 3 good leads.

Implying that the two boys are fishing for easy girls.

Obviously this one is implying that he's fishing for gay boys, but why the hell is a girl also looking for gay boys? I guess that if it was two gay guys the question would be why they don't fool around with each other, but the girl just makes it not work. For that matter, is Adam so afraid of implying that fags are promiscuous that he couldn't just keep the sex and loose morals and make it gay? Because if the original joke had been "I have sinned. I kissed a girl" it just sounds bowdlerized. Maybe that's because it's straight kissing, but I don't think so and the father being so interested in it seems prurient. Knowing the original joke pretty well, I still thought the punchline was going to be that the father was clearly way too into knowing which boys were kissing right up until the last panel. Would have been a funnier joke too, IMO, but Adam just couldn't bear to make a comic where homosexuality is the butt of the joke.

The fact that someone okayed a horror movie based on a shitty twitter post is genuinely insane to me.

At least FNAF and Slenderman were genuinely popular at some point, I don't think anyone even remembers Adam's dogwater comics 5 seconds after they stop looking at them.
