I'm really glad that the one thing that's never changed about the increasingly corporate and softened internet is that there are STILL shitty webcomics made by bpd weirdos. It's such a familiar brand of lolcow.

To some extent all Instagram webcomic artists are the same. Cute/“relatable” stuff, then politics out of nowhere, then getting all smug when they’re called out on it, complete with strawmen.

Anyway what do you guys think of Hello from Halo Head? The author is making it to cope with some trauma in her life. It has a cute and fluid artstyle and a serial structure, so you need to binge it to get the gist.

There are two separate General Webcomics threads. I'll give you that they're both relatively dead, but not so much that necroing them would be annoying. The second one even got a reply in May. Post there instead of here.

As for the actual comic: I'm not super keen on "animal crossing but looking at it gives you a headache". The art's nice enough but the colors are so bright and clash so often that the comic genuinely hurts my retinas.
Also not fond of the writing whatsoever. It started out kind of nice, with some hints towards greater theming and nice banter between the angel/devil pair, but i'm now 150+ pages in (around half the currently-available archive) and it's devolved into constant "jokes" about a retarded not-Raymond cat begging an asshole "cat who swears" (literal personality description ripped from her introductory dialogue) to step on or violently harm him repeatedly, completely overwriting his initial personality of an oblivious worker drone and throwing out the hint towards a greater world with a single fucking slap from swearcat.
It's gotten to a point where arguably the only significant development of the plot has been this cat getting an office job to fund his fetish... in this plot-based serial webcomic.


...on second thought, maybe you were right to post about that comic here.

I'm not quite sure what's supposed to be going on other than an angel being angry that a demon doesn't wanna play real life Animal Crossing with her. Artstyle's really good, though. Kind of a neat initial idea, but I'm only around the part where the swearing cat shows up, and from the archives it seems like she, a dog, and another cat are just going to steal the spotlight.

I did do a title search for "webcomic," but neither of those threads show up in the results. I should have searched for "webcomics" which does cause them to show up, but I didn't know that at the time. Apologies.
 
I keep seeing on twitter a lot of, I dont want to say outright bad comics, but just extremely bland 4 panel ones that are incredibly unfunny, yet have like 100000 likes and a million followers, it puzzles me.
There is this one I keep seeing about a couple of chicks, a blond one and a black haired one, that just never has any jokes, stuff just happens but nothing actually funny.
How do they get so popular when they literally have nothing going for them?
Am I just retarded and missing the point?
