Guys, he wasn’t a tyrant who sent people to the guillotine over his paranoia and power drunkenness! Don’t demonize him for autist traits or possibly not being straight! It was a tumultuous time! She’s totes qualified to talk about this by the way.

Please be patient

Sorry about your head

I'm Autistic

What is it with terminally online creative women being obsessed with the French Revolution?
They like the idea of having the power to decide who lives and dies, enforceable down to the most petty disagreements of taste and art. As self-appointed intellectuals who know what's good for society at a level the rest of us non-creatives can't even parse let alone argue against? Proven through their ability to "create" ? They see it as something they are entitled to have.

Like how all 40 year old girlbosses think they're due a rich, hot, husband that's totally devoted to them and has no other hobbies but tending to their needs.

Well, what can you add to that to make it even better?

How about an imaginary rich and cultured boyfriend who will give them direct sexual gratification on top of it all.

And if you are going to go all out? Why not make him a famous historical revolutionary who has the literal kill list on his coffee table and you can just add names to it at your leisure?!

@TowinKarz you are reaching too far. The answer is simple:
The Musical Les Miserables, more specifically the absolutely derranged and retarded fandom around it.

They have regicidophilia, also known as Lou Gehrig’s other disease

I don’t think that’s the case with this comic at least. For one, Rebecca is absolutely terminally online. Obsessed with autism, gay shit, draws a bunch of comics about Gaza, all that shit. Mentioned in one comic that she learned French to read a book that her partner got her, and I’m assuming that she got inspired to make Incorruptible after reading her first biography on him, that one apparently being Robespierre: A Revolutionary Life by Peter McPhee. Google and Amazon synopsis under the spoiler.
Robespierre: A Revolutionary Life is a 2012 biography by Australian historian Peter McPhee that explores the life of Maximilien Robespierre, a key figure in the French Revolution. The book examines Robespierre's formative years, his political evolution, and his complex role during the Reign of Terror, presenting him as a man shaped by the Revolution rather than solely as a fanatic dictator. McPhee emphasizes Robespierre's early ideals of justice and his efforts to improve the lives of the poor, while also analyzing the justifications for the violence of the Terror.

Key Aspects of the Book
  • Focus on Robespierre's Psychology and Context:
McPhee delves into Robespierre's youth and the experiences that shaped his character, arguing that his actions were influenced by personal factors and the revolutionary context.

  • Re-evaluation of the Terror:
The book challenges the traditional view of Robespierre as a bloodthirsty dictator, suggesting that the Terror was a complex instrument of civic regeneration and a reflection of his evolving ideology.

  • Emphasis on Robespierre's Ideals:
McPhee highlights Robespierre's consistent commitment to the principles of the 1789 Declaration of the Rights of Man, his opposition to war, and his desire to educate and improve the material circumstances of the French population.

  • A "Revolution Ruined" Narrative:
The biography portrays Robespierre as a man who was ultimately consumed by the Revolution, becoming an exhausted figure by the time of his death, rather than the one who ruined it.

  • A Positive Agenda:
McPhee invites readers to consider the Cult of the Supreme Being as evidence of a more positive personal agenda in Robespierre's final year, beyond the repression of the Terror.
    ~

An intimate new portrait of one of history's most controversial figures: heroic revolutionary or the first terrorist?

For some historians and biographers, Maximilien Robespierre (1758–94) was a great revolutionary martyr who succeeded in leading the French Republic to safety in the face of overwhelming military odds. For many others, he was the first modern dictator, a fanatic who instigated the murderous Reign of Terror in 1793–94. This masterful biography combines new research into Robespierre's dramatic life with a deep understanding of society and the politics of the French Revolution to arrive at a fresh understanding of the man, his passions, and his tragic shortcomings.

Peter McPhee gives special attention to Robespierre's formative years and the development of an iron will in a frail boy conceived outside wedlock and on the margins of polite provincial society. Exploring how these experiences formed the young lawyer who arrived in Versailles in 1789, the author discovers not the cold, obsessive Robespierre of legend, but a man of passion with close but platonic friendships with women. Soon immersed in revolutionary conflict, he suffered increasingly lengthy periods of nervous collapse correlating with moments of political crisis, yet Robespierre was tragically unable to step away from the crushing burdens of leadership. Did his ruthless, uncompromising exercise of power reflect a descent into madness in his final year of life? McPhee reevaluates the ideology and reality of "the Terror," what Robespierre intended, and whether it represented an abandonment or a reversal of his early liberalism and sense of justice.
Almost forgot to mention, around the same time she’d also been working on a historical fiction comic about gay princes. I can’t help but wonder if that also had some influence. But for the most part here it appears to be combining modern political brainrot and a new obsession.
Edit: One of the more negative reviews on Goodreads says that the author mischaracterizes Robespierre as mostly virtuous, and misunderstood, glosses over his atrocities, and is overall a romanticized vindication. Sounds familiar…

It's been a few years since I encountered this kind of evasion online but I'm starting to see it again. Maybe the world is healing.

One of the easiest ways to out a liar is to inquire for details, and details upon those details. Most liars won't go past the surface, while accomplished ones will maybe add a couple layers to their deception - but at a certain point only the truth is cost-effective as a time investment. Someone telling the truth can go in to infinite detail because they're just recollecting something that actually happened. A liar will try to gtfo if you start plying for specifics.

So we have this person throwing out signifiers left right and center but no actual information. 15 books but no book titles. PhD historians but no names. Interesting discussions but no word on the subject matter. This person made a big post about French history without saying a single opinion on a single item of something that happened in France.

They could even be telling the truth about all this - but they haven't opened any of those 15 books or understood any of those long discussions. I've had former friends brag that they read a lot about such-and-such and my rejoinder was always along the lines of 'if I read that book to your dog, would he then boast of his knowledge?' A person can read a lot and comprehend nothing.

Aaron Diaz trooned out? Took him long enough. Now he can live out his transhumanist fantasies by cutting of his cock and replacing it with a dildo. We truly live in the future.

Anyways, I didn't see this posted anywhere and, rate me MATI, but this comic really pissed me off. To preface, Yahtzee made this same observation 17 years ago: gamer humor is the laziest form of entertainment. You just compare game mechanics with real life and wait for the appalause.

Lo and behold: https://www.ecm-artist.com/copy-of-mochi-men

GET IT GUYS!!!1!! MY SPEED SCORE IS LOW SO I GO SLOW

It's painful to read, it reeks of GOTIS and has the laziest takes on a game that's 23 years old.

This reads like a parody of gaming webcomics: hur durr, I saved one hour ago and now I have to reload, am I right fellow gamers?

What's next honey? Are you going to talk about airplane food?

The only thing that made me chuckle was the very first comic where the asian woman drew herself with a white boyfriend. Like fucking clockwork.

I've decided to do a little bit of editing with one of these comic strips and suffice to say, it flows so much better

Found out that these comic "artists" just don't have the balls to commit to the punchline.

EDIT: You know what, i can remove another panel and still get the punchline across.
And these are the people telling you Trump is a dictator and all his supporters are in a cult. I'll never understand the blind rage Democrats have against people who refuse to vote Democrat or even vote at all. Like threatening violence against a stranger, while at the same time painting them as the antagonists, is not going to win over supporters.

While I'm at here are two comics. One thing you can say SJW artists have no originality. Everything feels like it could had been created in the 2000's or 2010's and no one would deny it.

I see degeneracy and a Karen.

Careful. She also doesn’t shut up about politics, is an r/childfree Dog Mom, and appears to be vegan iirc.
But at least she can define what a "woman" is. Also, saying "I would rather marry that creature than the blue-haired commie whose face is more ink and metal than meat" is like saying "I'd rather have my dick chopped off than flayed and chopped off."

Also, morbidly obese women still don't stink as much of rotting flesh and unwashed asshole as troons.

Fair enough, I guess. Might have to disagree with you on the “can define what a woman is” part.

Gotta buckle down for endless misery either way too.

Looking at the last one again, I think she actually traced Timon and Pumbaa in those first three panels.

To be clear, when I say "that creature", I mean the 500lb troglodyte this artist depicted the far-right as, not the artist. Sorry, it took me until now to realize that we weren't talking about the same "she". I may be a bit slow today.

Ooooh! That’s alright, sorry about the confusion there.
Here’s some comics from another bad account as a sort of thread tax then.

Yes, the entire account is like this.

Reminds me of when people would take the second and third panels out of old Ctrl+Alt+Delete strips, leaving just the first and last, and it usually made just as much sense, if not flowed better.
Actually B^Uckley is good now - he was framed for sending that underage girl his dick. It could happen to any of us, so we need to stand in solidarity with a regular guy who was messaging with a 15 year old in the completely normal way that you or I might do it. Sure, his art sucks, I'm not arguing that, but the court of public opinion can't rake someone over the coals with false statutory rape allegations just because they disagree with his drawing style. That's dishonest and sets a dangerous precedent. I hate his work with the fire of a thousand suns, but he absolutely should not have had his life ruined because of mass hysteria over something for which there is no admissible evidence. He is technically innocent (the best kind of innocent).

The Jackie situation was very suspect. That was the area of him shaving abs into his stomach hair. But the (in)famous dickshot was some alog and NOT Bucker's junk.

I guess my take on the matter was: his entire fan base was teens, he was interacting with them, and it might have gotten inappropriate as he was single at the time.
But its been like 20 years (fuuuuuck) since the incident there have been no further accusations of inappropriate underaged creepin'. Ever since he got married but especially since he became a dad, his antics have died all the way off to where he's just normal and boring. Unless he starts creeping on teens, there is no reason to go after a guy for trying to get some groupie poontang two decades ago when there are active pedos on Roblox.

His art has improved to the point its just "not very good" instead "really bad" so its now just sort of alog behavior to roast him for that. His scripts are just "extra mid".

What is this, "Argument from my best guess as to what Authority on this topic would be but alas I am so stupid that the smartest-sounding thing I can conceive of is 15 books and talking to my friend who is a professor"?
"I've got like 15 books about dead engineers on my shelf, I'm friends with phd engineers who specialize in radar systems, I've been to lectures and had very interesting discussions with a Canadian who has 50 years of experience wearing a magic ring*, please use my new textbook about boundary decay that doesn't contain any equations, but which is better than all the old ones because I want to have sex with the Fourier transform".
*not a joke, look it up.

:story: jesus fucking christ you said it you said the thing
"Excuse you, he DIDN'T send unsolicited dick pics* to a 15-year-old, therefore nothing else is inappropriate, but even if it was, it was OK because he was in a sexual emergency at the time".
fuck off with your witch hunt hebephile allsotiresome.jpg

*if the child asks for pictures of your dick obviously then it's acceptable to send them to her.

No? I was saying he was single and that lends more credibility to the story, but the evidence is hearsay. His entire fan base was teens so its not like he was chatting up the one highschool girl on the server. There haven't been any other (credible) reports of buckers being being a creeper (An asshole & art criminal? yes.) Most of the other pedos-with-dictionaries are frequent flyers on grooming that barely legal poontang.
(unless you count his wife being young when they started dating)

anyway please take some time to come off of whatever it is you are smoking cause you spiraling.

Everyone hated B^Uckley mostly for being a complete asshole to everyone and also for stealing art and characters and being a shitty writer. The dick pic thing was always an afterthought. He's still an asshole, he just doesn't talk to anyone anymore so nobody cares.
