Yeah, I was watching LagoVirt's video on "So Sorry" and the biggest drama was Melissia drawing a character she explicitly stated to be 15 in order to help Samuel with his fat furry OC character in the game. That's why I was like. "Wait didn't it get a mention here?"

Wokescolds have been trying to cancel LICD since like 2010 unsuccessfully (sadly)
Any efforts generally fall over partly because "see its SEX POSITIVE" its pozzed alright but mostly because the comic is shit with limited reach and sharing (I don't think I've ever seen the comic posted/reposted/meme'd except to mock it for being awful) so the general consensus seems to be "eh, who cares". And trying to engage anyone who isn't hate-reading is like trying to tell a Frenchman cigarettes cause cancer to get him to stop smoking. Nigga everyone knows, no one still smoking gives a fuck.

She has definitely lost the script, as one will do when shit isn't already written out and moves at about a chapter a year (during the high productivity periods). It was very clearly originally a YA adventure with Ava being a misfit and having a crush on the Emoboy, then turned into weird gay-nonbinary shit as politics shifted.

I also know she got in big troubles due to having paywalled auto-rule 34 of her very underage characters doing lots of fucking and Ava having her masochistic desires indulged in creepy ways.

From what I understand Sohmer came from reasonably well off parents and made bank during the "golden area" of webcomics, and wisely put that money into a reasonable house in an area of low cost of living as well as investements. He also did LFG at the height of WOW and Webcomic profitability.

Adding to this, he was also (iirc) co-creator of Blind Ferret that did book distribution for a lot of the emerging "Post-Keenspot" comics, and did forays into animation. But most imporantly he's shown to not be a total retard with money, knowing when to cash in his chips instead of holding to the last hand; when webcomic media started tanking, he worked to sell Blind Ferret. When is brick-and-mortar comic shop started struggling, he sold it.

I would also expect, not being a frothing retard and over 40, that he's maintained connections with advertisers and probably gets a fair bit of ad money just from having connections at the ad brokers and being easy to work with.

In short: all he needs is a trickle of money to keep his lifestyle going.

Thanks for the informative posts, I guess seeing someone with an online carrer: A) not being retarded with money and B) Keeping an extremelly low social media profile is just bizarre. I have searched his personal twitter and this nigga posted 17 total tweets since 2007 (unless I'm retarded with X, which odds are I am) and his latest bsky posts are from 2023. He did go full shitlib over there but he totaled 44 posts before tapping out.

Here's the only thing that doesn't make sense in my head: he made bank, he had investments, he has a dirty past, he is white and male; someone with an axe to grind and two brain cells to rub together could shake him down but it all failed. Were all his detractors too retarded to organize a payday?

That’s ironic, because of all those webcomics that achieved (relatively) mainstream popularity, LFG and LICD seemed the most like they were written by an honest-to-god simpleton. I don’t mean that they were the least funny or most obnoxious, just that it seemed like whoever wrote them looked at the world with the taste and judgement of a child

She's such a bad animator that I actually have said her shows need more tweens. That's how bad she fucks up. Her action-expressive characters who are always climbing on stuff and grabbing people (note-all three of these are in the position of boss/supervisor, what the fuck does that say about her), are the ones missing frames and whose scenes have glaring continuity. Same with the two sex robot circus clowns, which also shouldn't be a phrase I should ever have to type.
HB is supposed to be all about this Blitzo guy but his fight scenes are a fucking mess compared to idk, Luna walking from the front desk to the meeting room. The second season of HH has actual continuity errors. Those are both bad showings from Viv but also a good example of the care and attention Amazon gives to all of its products.

I don't mind using AI to help make up in practical areas you lack, but the refusal to be in any way productive with it, to the point we're just jumping hoops to make a simple solution more complicated just to include ai, amuses/stuns me to no end.
