Sadly, on December 27, 2025, Sunni the Pug passed away from ingesting a "toxic substance." Later, it was revealed to be rat poison. That is if you are inclined to believe the source.

While we were on vacation, unfortunately, our dog -- while being watched by someone who has watched the dog before -- got into some toxic substance and did pass away. We had to retrieve Sunni from the pet hospital that tried valiantly to save her but was unable to. That really sucks, man. Like, um, losing a dog sucks a lot, obviously. I'm not even a dog person. Losing a dog still sucks. But, um, losing her while we were gone... uh, you know, we weren't... we weren't there... uh, for any, for any of that. It was... um, you know, everything was by phone. Uh, and... and it was... you know, we asked them to do their best and she just didn't make it. And so, we went to go retrieve her little body and bring her home for just a little bit... uh, so the kids could say good-bye, you know, and stuff like that. Uh, which... you know, like that's the part of pets that I really hate is, is when you lose them, uh, that's never like a good time. So we currently have little Sunni, but she's uh... we're going to take her back and collect ashes in a little while. So it really, really sucks!

A prayer for Sunni:
God, we ask for your comfort and strength in this time of mourning for Sunni. Thank you for the gift of their presence in our lives and for the unconditional love they showed us. We ask that you be with us as we mourn their loss, and help us to remember the joy and happiness they brought into our lives. May we find peace in knowing that our pet is now in Your loving care, and may we be comforted by the hope of being reunited with them one day. Help us to remember the love and loyalty they show us, and may we carry their memory in our hearts forever. Amen.
