Personally, Baneposting will always have a special place in my heart - I was a regular on /tv/ back when The Dark Knight Rises first came out and Baneposting was at its peak.

To this day, even thinking about it makes me giggle like a silly idiot. Seemingly innocuous phrases such as 'no survivors' and 'for you' have become hilarious sources of constant mirth and I can barely contain my glee any time someone is referred to as 'a big guy'.

Also, to my knowledge, Sneedposting has yet to pierce the veil and manifest in reality the way Baneposting has.

Never forget that the Daily Mail article that originally covered the Germanwings Flight 9525 incident originally included the following:

I don't really like Sneedposting because there is not really a punchline or a hook to it. It only consists of someone saying "Sneed" or adding the word "Sneed" to another word.

Meanwhile, the whole Dark Knight Rises scene is quotable and memeable. You can take any point of that scene and someone will follow along with you.

Baneposting is like a Simpsons joke, anyone who is into it will follow along with you and you'll both get the reference. It's maleable to the point where I have seen that scene recreated a million times in different games, videos and sources like many other Simpsons moments.

Sneedposting is like a Family Guy joke (Which is ironic since it comes from a Simpsons episode), someone says the word "Sneed" and the first thought is "Remember that joke about Chuck and Sneed? I do too!" The joke is self contained, which is why it never really goes beyond just adding the word Sneed to something else.

It is engrained enough that someone will say the word "Sneed" when no one is talking or to bump threads on 4chan but Baneposting is old as dirt and it is still constantly memed. Sneedposting in itself has died already.

For example, it only takes one person with their hands on their hips, a person wearing a mask, people standing in front of the helicopter, a plane crashing, or any other point of that scene for people to start joking about the Dark Knight Rises. It happens organically.

Sneedposting is taking something and applying the suffix or prefix "sneed" to it. It's often times forced and doesn't go anywhere beyond that point. It all starts and ends with someone saying Sneed.

Sneed is temporary, Baneposting is forever.

Funfact, the prologue for The Dark Knight Rises shown before this one film near release had a different Bane voice. Due to complaints, Bane's voice was changed. The "with no survivors" take is funny.

Which yeah, people went to see some random film because they played the Bane scene before the start of the film. This is a recording of the original version.
