Well different books have been banned in different times and places so these are just a few that have been banned in the past:
-All Quiet on the Western Front was banned in Nazi Germany for being too anti-war
-The Anarchists Cookbook literally has recipes for homemade weapons and bombs
-Ulysses despite it's modern fame was banned for indecency or obscenity I think
-The Catcher in the Rye was seen as spreading suicide and communism
-The Grapes of Wrath was banned by the Turkish Government "for spreading propaganda unfavorable to the state"

Here is a whole list of books that are informative yet banned in polite society.

Fight Club is banned, in prison at least. To my knowledge almost all Chuck Palahniuk books are banned in prison. Also banned by most school libraries.

Heart of Darkness: Beautifully written, not PC.
Lolita: Beautifully written, not PC.

I haven't read Moby Dick, but the word on the street is that it's beautifully written and not PC.

Industrial Society and its Future
The International Jew
The Naked Ape (which became the topic of censorship on the US Supreme Court)
Flowers for Algernon

Here is a whole list of books that are informative yet banned in polite society.
I'm saddened by the links I'm seeing.
