Because it isn't what I was talking about
Then you nitpicked half my point and ignored the important part. The issue isn't just that barbie is watched its that its watched and its propaganda. Arguably its the most propaganda-y one on the list.
The Super Mario Bros Movie is 15th despite having released in the first week of April.
How is that a "despite"? Barbie's been in movies less than a month and mario has been for 5 months and barbie is almost caught up (my bad). How much do you reckon barbie will have made 5 months from now?
It's worth noting that this entire year has also been notoriously dry for theatres due to both minimal and dogshit film releases as well as Hollywood's pants-on-head-retarded striking making distribution difficult
I'm not saying barbie is popular because its good. By whatever means it ended up on the ladder fair or unfair its there. We don't know the impact it will have right now, it could be another avatar, it could be another endgame, either way discussion of it should not be condeded right now.
You have no brain and are dumb and gay.
I mixed up the revnues my bad, however barbie catching up the mario bros in 20 days when they've been out for 5 months isn't really a point against its favour.

Friendly reminder: while you clinical (or willingly blind) retard faggots are discussing whether or not Barbie is misfired propaganda of feminism or not, Greta Gerwig has fucked off with a lion's share of her 1 billion and is busy turning Disney's Snow White into something that's 700%, blatant propaganda of feminism.

I mean, hmmmm, damn, I still really can't tell if this movie - with kid-friendly marketing, to boot - is really an attempt to make a bait-and-switch case for matriarchy. Surely, it being written by an actual-ass lesbian (who, even more ironically, isn't Gerwig) in the current year of 2023 wouldn't make the script biased in the slightest, right?

Seriously, are you still talking out of your ass?

I don't know what you people's problem is. Are we seriously going to pretend that barbie isn't unbelievably popular/isn't propaganda? Which of those two statements do you find controvertial exactly?
Hang on, it's not that we don't agree with you that it's popular, but whatever you're implying either makes no sense or is very exaggerated.

My implication:

1.) Barbie is extremely fucking popular.

2.) Barbie is propaganda.

3.) Because of 1+2, discussion of it should not just be conceded/left on the table for the opposition to do what they want with it.

Again, you're overexaggerating your points

Nigga there is no opposition. You're on a site for laughing at stupid people, our only enemies are the companies that keep trying to take us down.

What is it with fucking youtubers and video essays that are longer than the films they review? I don't have 2 hours and 30 minutes to fuck around with watching a critical Barbie analysis video, just get to the point. If it can't be done within half an hour it shouldn't be done at all.
Sorry for late response.

It is a play on the YouTube algorithm. YouTube is trying to compete with Twitch and their 5-hour gaming streams so they boost long form content to the forefront of search results. Longer videos also give way to more ad breaks and thus money to the content creator. A majority of essay videos could be at maximum 30 mins long, but YouTube encourages them to drag it out for more e-sheckles.
