That's a shame. I saw him pitch, definitely enjoyed the rare knuckleballers, I don't believe there are any currently left in MLB correct me if i'm wrong.

NY Mets manager Buck Showalter has been fired. It's a shame to see a class act manager get cut with a year left on contract. Their shit season was probably more to fault with underperforming pitching, then a deadline teardown. I hope to see Buck catch on somewhere else or return to the sportscasting booth.

3:08 first pitch for Rangers v Rays?

Fuck you Manfred you kike manlet.

No one gives a shit about Toronto, Milwaukee, Minnesota or Arizona. Put those games first and have Florida teams on in the evening. Fucking ridiculous scheduling.

I vividly remember Tim Wakefield‘s famous knuckleball the same way I remember Curt Schilling’s bloody sock

As someone that was once a child witnessing the ongoing rivalry between the Red Sox and Yankees during the early 2000’s, I used to think that a pitch like that could never be remade in today‘s era. There are knuckleballs in pitching, but these kinds of pitchers are just a one in a lifetime thing. You don’t even see Red Sox vs Yankees matchups in the 2000’s in todays Red Sox and Yankees’ teams, which makes more people in the NY area actually wish that Yankees (and to extent, the Mets) would try at least a little bit harder.

Either way, I’m just glad Curt managed to get the last moments spending time with him and his family. I heard he was hurting very badly when he saw Tim being sick on his podcast, and he was reluctant to let the media cast light on his disease before it would get roundly repeated by the same sports media that openly refuse to have Curt in Cooperstown when it’s all said in done.

God bless Tim and his family.

Trevor Bauer sex assault saga has come to a vindicating close for Bauer.

I’m really enjoying the interstate baseball rivalry between the Houston Astros and the Dallas/Fort Worth-based Texas Rangers teams. I do enjoy me some sports rivalries and both teams are doing good this season.

That being said I did hear that Houston won the AL West this season which is impressive. AL West to me has been really competitive throughout the 2023 season and I enjoyed seeing the Astros, Rangers, and Mariners exchange rankings

It's interesting that with all the switch to refined pitching analytics in the modern game that there's been no public experimenting with trying to artificially recreate the historic knuckleball pitcher.

Everything is about velocity, spin rates and tunneling.

Makes you wonder if any of the poor boy teams like Oakland and Tampa ever invested any resources into trying to master and teach knuckleballs as a science.

Surely every team has a whole stable of busted prospects, injured arms, old guys and an endless supply of replacement independent league arms to experiment with for very little investment cost.

Kinda makes you wonder if they haven't tried, tried but failed or had some statheads tell them it's not worth it because only velocity can be king.

It seems all the relatively recent successful knuckleballers are all self-taught.

Just walked out of Rangers vs Rays. I'm not watching another first round exit.

Kevin Cash puts in Jose Siri off the IL over Josh Lowe just so he can have three outfield errors for three runs.

He leaves in Glasnow, who is dog shit imo, out for the sixth after struggling in the fifth at 90+ pitches just to have him turn 2-0 into 4-0.

The Rays will never win with Kevin Cash and I'm tired of watching it hoping they will. FML I'm going to drink until I blackout.

Come on, not a word about that centerfielder? Those last two runs belong to him and Glasgow equally imo.

Somehow watching Dubya's favorite team shell Dean Kremer like they were Hamas and sweep the O's has me actually optimistic. Is this finally the year that the Rangers don't suffer some hilarious misfortune? After all the yapping the commentators did about Kremer being "the first Israeli ace pitcher" and "dedicating his start to the tragedy in Israel", he gets two moonshots hit off him, gives up 6 and comes out before the end of the 3rd and the commentators shut up about Israel after that. Maybe the Rangers really do have the might of Allah behind them this year.

By the way, I looked up Kremer after the commentators wouldn't shut up about him being "Israeli"...he's from California. :story: I really hate sports nationality laws. Naturalized citizens and people who have never lived in a country should not be allowed to play for that country. It's how Italy makes the WBC nearly every time...they have really lax citizenship laws that make it really easy for Italian-Americans to get Italian citizenship and that lets them build their whole team out of Americans who don't live in Italy and can't speak Italian. Same thing for Nootbaar on Japan- I was shocked that they even let him on because he's a hapa who's never lived or played in Japan as far as I know, and the Japanese seem too xenophobic to let someone like that on their team.

As a Rays fan I'm overjoyed to see those smug fucking birds have their wings clipped. Half their damn roster is "my dad owns a dealership" personified.

As a far right extremist I'm overjoyed to see a kike beaten silly with bats .

Go Rangers

So the Braves are, as of writing this post, losing 10-2 to the Phillies. But the BIG story tonight is the fact Bryce Harper made a throat cutting motion after hitting a homer. Now I'm not going to say Braves fans are completely "booty-blasted" as the kids say, buuuut...

I'm sure the outrage is over the Gaza situation, and certainly that your "Number 1 in the League" team is choking like a teenager on a casting couch.
Allegedly the Braves official radio presenters called for Harper to be suspended. Certainly moral outrage. Not the fact that he had a hat trick in this game alone so far.
Eat shit Faglanta.
