Two notable things happened yesterday:

  • Dylan Cease threw the second no-hitter in Padres history as they beat the Nationals in Washington 3-0. It took 52 years for the team to have its first no-hitter, and now they've had a pair in the last three seasons.

  • The Rays traded outfielder Randy Arozarena to Seattle last night for a pair of prospects, Aidan Smith and Brody Hopkins (Seattle's 4th and 6th round picks from last summer's draft, respectively.)
 
Why is this fucking sport so infuriating ?

Dodgers are up 5-0 with only 1 out left for the Astros in the 6th inning...half nigger Roberts decides that it's time to bring on a reliever, who then proceeds to get bitch slapped to the tune of 4 runs to make it 5-4 Dodgers.

Dodgers manage to claw back 1 run in the 8th to take a 2 run lead, only to surrender it right away to make it 6-6 going into the 9th. They fire blanks at the top of the 9th, and then promptly surrender a walk off homer at the bottom of the 9th to let the fucking Astros win from being down 5 runs in the 6th...

Why the fuck does it invariably happen that a reliever comes in and proceeds to get absolutely destroyed ? I watched this shit happen all the time when Ohtani was on the Angels...he'd hand his reliever a 1-0 lead after 6 innings only for them to lose 9-3 or some shit.

The Dodgers have the look of a team that is nowhere near as good as what their record says. Freeman has understandable reasons for not being in there but there is literally no fucking time table for the return of all of these other faggots who are out injured.

All of this happens in the same game where Ohtani hits his 32nd homer so hard that it could have been heard from outer space.

That's just baseball. Shohei Ohtani and the Dodgers aren't entitled to win, nor should the Astros be expected to roll over and die.

Also the Rays firesale is a result of Stu Stern(((Berg))) not being able to seal a deal to sell the team.

Haven't posted in this thread for a while, but man am I happy with my Guardians. After a dismal 2023, I wasn't expecting such a strong comeback with a first year manager. The AL Central for the most part has been a fun division this year (except for the White Sox, the poor bastards) and I think there's a good chance Cleveland can make a deep playoff run.
