I still as a die hard fan think the best moment, was Bryce screaming the F word (fuck) right after he got miced up. Hilarious.

Teoscar Hernandez took a slider off his foot last night and he left the park wearing a walking boot. Turd Dodgers fans are screaming for retribution for the so-called "dirty pitch".
 
Ohtani has now made another piece of history, becoming the 1st man to reach 45 HR and 45 steals.

The next milestone will be if he can get to 47 homers, which would give him the most of anyone in the 40 - 40 club.

With 21 games left in the season, he'll have to hit a homer and get a steal roughly once every 4 games to get to the mythical 50 - 50 plateau.

Of those opponents, I'll list the Team Pitching ERA stats, Opponent BA and the Park HR Factor (as of today) :

Cleveland Indians (2 games in LA) = 3.79 ERA (8th) and .232 Opponent BA (3rd). Park HR Factor = 1.1 (4th)

Chicago Cubs (3 games in LA) = 3.78 ERA (7th) and .238 Opponent BA (10th). Park HR Factor = 1.1 (4th)

Atlanta Braves (4 games in Atlanta) = 3.54 ERA (2nd) and .238 Opponent BA (10th). Park HR Factor = 0.97 (19th)

Miami Marlins (3 games in Miami) = 4.78 ERA (28th) and .258 Opponent BA (27th). Park HR Factor = 0.95 (21st)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in LA) = 5.44 ERA (30th) and .285 Opponent BA (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.1 (4th)

San Diego Padres (3 games in LA) = 3.98 (14th) and .243 Opponent BA (18th). Park HR Factor = 1.1 (4th)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in Colorado) = 5.44 ERA (30th) and .285 Opponent BA (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.13 (2nd)

I'll preface my comments by saying that all of this autism may not really mean anything, because the Angels are bottom feeders as far as pitching goes AND Anaheim is a HR-friendly field...and yet they kept our boy quiet.

Having said that, Cleveland is a tough out (even in LA) due to their rankings. He did well to get a HR against a guy who had only given up 1 hit to left-handed hitters until this game.

Chicago will be more of an even match-up given that they're a very good (but not elite) pitching team playing in LA. I'd expect a homer here.

Atlanta is just tough across the board. Elite pitching team in a tough ballpark. No homers assumed here.

Miami is a bad pitching team in a not so great ballpark for hitters. I'll assume a homer here.

Colorado in LA is mouth-watering and I'd expect a homer here.

Padres are middle-of-the-pack as far as pitching, playing in LA so I'll expect a homer here as well.

We finish off with Colorado in Colorado, which is usually slugging heaven and so a homer here seems like a good bet.

That theoretically gets us to 50 homers. The steals should be much easier so I won't go through scenario planning on that front.

Now, all of this assumes that down the stretch, the Rockies and the Padres don't decide to engage in faggotry, i.e. walking him every chance that they get so that he can't have a shot at history. I mean, there's nothing to stop teams from doing that and nothing surprises me anymore, so we'll have to wait and see. It would help if he for some reason is struggling to get steals by that point, but I can't really see that happening.

Rooting for history fellas. Give this old man something to smile about.
 
Ohtani reaches homer number 46 with a 450 cannot blast.

He did get picked off, but I learned that such events don't add to his Caught Stealing stats. That means he's at 46 steals and was caught only 4 times (apparently one of the best marks in history).

He now has 19 games to reach the hallowed ground of 50-50. Averages out to roughly a homer and a steal once every 5 games or so.

I don't discount faggotry from the Padres and Rockies. I also maintain that Atlanta will be a tough place to hit homers, so he's got to keep the pace going. While he's built up a cushion, let's not forget how easy it is to go cold with the case of Aaron Judge:

Judge is batting .175/.327/.250 over the last 11 games with no homers. Something like that could easily happen to Ohtani as well.

If he can get 2 homers out of the Cubs, Braves and Marlins games then I'd consider it a best-case scenario.

I think its just modern sensibilities. I guess its weird to call people babe/baby unless you intimately know them. I called a waitress at a bar "babe" once in front of my guy friends and you'd have thought I just called her a nigger at the top of my lungs. They were all like "WOAH, WOAH dude not cool, not cool dont call her that, thats creepy and weird"

Shohei Ohtani is currently at 47 homers and 48 steals. As I had suspected, he wasn't able to hit any homers against Atlanta in their house.

There are 12 games to go against the Marlins (away), Rockies (home), Padres (home), Rockies (away). He'll need to average 1 homer every 4 games and 1 steal every 6 games to reach the legendary stat line. Here's a modified look at the 4 series, now taking into account the ranking of how many homers each pitching group has given up:

Miami Marlins (3 games in Miami) = 4.70 ERA (28th) and 176 homers given up (11th). Park HR Factor = 0.95 (22nd)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in LA) = 5.40 ERA (30th) and 198 homers given up (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.11 (3rd)

San Diego Padres (3 games in LA) = 3.92 (14th) and 160 homers given up (21st). Park HR Factor = 1.11 (3rd)

Colorado Rockies (3 games in Colorado) = 5.40 ERA (30th) and 198 homers given up (30th). Park HR Factor = 1.14 (2nd)

A few observations would be: all 3 teams have actually improved their ERA stats by a few basis points over the last several days. Miami is surprising in that they give up a lot of runs, but they actually don't give up many homers (I suppose somewhat aided by their ballpark). The Padres are middle of the pack insofar as ERA is concerned, however they're actually good at not giving up many homers.

Getting the last 2 steals shouldn't be hard theoretically. I notice that pitchers are attempting more pickoffs and catchers seem to be more "on edge" during Mookie's at bats to try and catch a steal attempt at second base. Again, definitely very do-able and I would be surprised if he doesn't get to 50 steals.

When it comes to homers, Ohtani's on a 4 game streak of no homers so he's definitely due. While I had originally predicted a homer against the Marlins, given a closer look at their pitching performance as it relates to giving up homers, I'm not so sure anymore.

This puts some real pressure on him to get the last 3 homers during the home stretch in LA against the Padres and the Rockies. I say this especially because it wouldn't be great for him to have to go into the very final stretch of 3 games in Colorado searching for that remaining homer (assuming that he's at 49 at that point).

Nothing in Baseball is a given and I haven't even considered the possibility of faggotry by way of repeatedly walking him as teams may be wont to do.
 
They needed to win 3 for there to be a chance of clinching the record at Guaranteed Rate. They aren't beating San Diego, so they had to steal some wins from Oakland and Anaheim.

Dodgers are up 9-3 vs. the Marlins at the bottom of the 6th.

So far, he's gone 4-4 with 1 towering blast of a homer, 2 stolen bases and 5 RBIs. He had a shot at the Cycle had he not gotten thrown out attempting a triple.

2 homers in 3 games at what is known as a pitcher's ballpark is truly out of this world.

He's now well ahead of the projection that I made (so happy to be wrong on this one) and is now at 49 hone runs and 51 steals.

50-50 seems like a foregone conclusion now with 9 games to go, but once again, nothing in this sport is a given until it happens.

I take comfort in knowing that with 9 more games left in the season, even if teams want to try to repeatedly walk him, they can't possibly keep doing it at every single at-bat.
