I wonder if people were screaming "RIGGED!!!!" when Mickey Mantle and Hank Aaron met in the '57/'58 World Series.

Watching the new documentary on the Red Sox and their mythical 2004 campaign. Really good stuff.

Evan Phillips is off of the World Series roster for the Dodgers due to arm fatigue. This is a massive blow as Philips and Treinen are the 2 best relievers that the Dodgers have.

They're saying that since it's a pre-existing condition he could potentially be back for Game 6 and Game 7, but this is extremely disappointing.

This is the motherfucking World Series. There is no guarantee that any of these players will ever be back. You have to go out there as long as your arm is still attached to your body. Everyone is fatigued and hurt by this point and if you can't will yourself onto the field then you're a faggot.

The loss of Phillips now squarely gives the advantage to the Yanks sadly. Game 1 is about to kick off but I can't put faith into the Dodgers having to score at least 6-7 runs every night just to have a shot. Anything can happen, but the amount of dependence on luck for the Dodgers to win makes me uncomfortable.

Edit: Flaherty gets out of the inning while allowing 2 to get on. Edman of all people makes a motherfucking error...anyways, at least they fired blanks to start off.

Edit: Freddie Freeman of all people gets a Triple but then is stranded on 3rd, but the Dodgers have been making hard contact against Cole. That's usually a good sign.

Edit: Scoreless through the top of the 3rd. Flaherty has somehow gotten Judge to strike out twice. Bottom of the order coming up for the Dodgers.

Dodgers draw first blood. Who else but KIKE Hernandez to come through with the clutch Triple, followed by Will Smith on the Sacrifice Fly ! Bang bang play but great hustle to reach home safely.

Edit: Motherfuck this shit...Stanton with a 2 run homer to put the Yanks up 2-1. This is one of those decisions that will probably come back to haunt Roberts...on the one hand, he struck out Judge for a 3rd time but to give up that homer is so fucking awful. They're making a change now, but in a game like this a 1 run lead is so precious.

Doesn't look like Cole will be taken out either and the Dodgers have been somewhat clueless against him. Not like this...

Edit: I mean, if you have the 2 men in scoring position with 1 out and you still can't come away with any runs then you don't deserve to win. Fuck this shit.

Edit: Ohtani hits a Double and then advances to 3rd of a fielding error. 1 out and Betts is coming up. Yanks are going to Weaver and you get the feeling that this is the chance right here. Have to tie it up at the very least.

Betts ties it up on a Sacrifice Fly !

Edit: Treinen puts Judge away and to the bottom of the 9th we go...

Edit: Well, extra innings it is.

Edit: Edman you fucking gook piece of shit. I just can't believe this inability to just execute and not fuck up defensively. I mean, isn't this what all that training is for ?

Every single Dodgers fan needs to be shot after that interference.

28 is the number, not 8.
Sorry LA you shithole.

Look, I get that you're mad because your team lost Game 1. I also agree in spirit that LA (along with SF and NY) should be nuked (in minecraft).

Having said that, you should be mad at your team. They were up 3-2, had gotten rid of Ohtani and had a hobbled Freeman to contend with as the very last out of the game. The odds of him hitting a walk off Grand Slam were infinitesimally small.

It's a combination of bad luck and maybe a questionable decision to put Cortez in there given that he was coming off of a long layoff.

The Yankees snatched defeat from the jaws of victory and the Dodgers pulled off a miracle. These things happen. Either way, it looks as though it's going to be a long series so onward to Game 2. Still a lot of Baseball left to play.

We’ll see who’s crying.

Imagine being an LA Dodgers fan.

Yeah yeah yeah I know.
What can say I was born and raised in SoCal. Grew up hearing my Dad and Uncle screaming how the 90s and 2000s Dodgers were shit. I remember those shitty Dodger Dogs.
Honestly if they blow this series I’ll breathe a sigh of relief because I’m betting the weeb community will claim this obnoxious anime idolatry served as a good luck charm. But if they win I’ll be happy to shit on Zoo York. Either way I win unless I make some stupid bets in the immediate future.

I hope it goes to Game 7 overtime for extra drama.
