He just said "one of the fag capitals of the world", he never specified any specific place. I was a bit surprised to learn it wasn't a San Francisco Giants, Seattle Mariners, or some other West Coast team.

I can't put on a game anymore without the pre-game being about race and one sided talk about whatever the current event is. I'll be happy when this season is over at this point.

I was done with the NBA years ago, I guess I'm going to be done with the MLB (honestly, I thought the Universal DH was going to do that first), and the NFL is on the bubble.

I think it might be over already, Mookie is batting leadoff for LA tonight and he's pretty much the main non-latino black star player (unless you count Judge but he's mixed). I agree that the /r/baseball circlejerk over this stuff has been insufferable. Last week they were unironically supporting the creation of an all-black* team to compete internationally at the WBC.

*American only, so like 90% of the best black players wouldn't be included lol

Ratings were actually up 20% this year, supposedly thanks to young people and women (but that's from Lindsey Adler of The Athletic so maybe take it with a grain of salt). But yeah I think MLB knows better than to completely alienate the 30-50yo white guy demographic that makes the league such as cash cow. They'll make some token gestures, maybe Milwaukee will take a couple more games off, and that'll be the end of it.

Edit: Turns out I'm an overly optimistic moron. Rangers-A's and Phillies-Nationals postponed. We did it boys, racism is no more.

Probably depends on their race/background. If I had to guess I'd say the black latinos like Acuña/Vlad Jr are sympathetic, the white latinos like Inciarte/Arenado don't really care, and Yuli Gurriel is probably posting about it on Stormfront as we speak.

Leaked audio/video from Mets GM Brodie Wagner (he didn't realize he was still being recorded, Wagner even says "this doesn't leave this room lol). Apparently Manfred wanted the Mets to leave the field as a show of social justice awareness at 7, and then come back on the field at 8 as a "positive message". He has to be done as a commissioner after this. Getting caught trying to force a team to make a completely meaningless gesture (since they would be coming back an hour later) is guaranteed to piss everyone off no matter what side of the BLM issue you're on. What an absolutely shitty manager. Say what you want about Bud Selig being a greedy bastard who lined his own pockets by "selling" his team to his daughter before he became commissioner and then giving that team tax breaks, but at least he never got caught cynically manipulating both sides of a political issue to such a retarded extent that even MLB GMs say in private conversations that he just "doesn't get it" and doesn't know how to lead.
