I've sprouted a wart on my index finger in the autumn. Recently another one appeared on the index finger on my other hand.
I have OCD and I fucking hate them. I am terrified of spreading them to my own genitals, no one would ever believe I gave them to myself.

I've tried iodine for the past 6 weeks, which helps the wart peel, but has not done anything, in fact the original wart has got substantially bigger. It is a flat rough callous type thing in a really inconvenient place. It covers the sides of my knuckles making the skin thick there and prone to fissuring.

I'm supplementing with zinc as people with warts are often low. I have endo and women with endometriosis are low in zinc due to heavy blood loss; zinc is required to make haemoglobin.

I've tried tea tree and thuja oils lately but only for the past few days. No difference so far.

I'm also considering apple cider vinegar, it looks quick and brutal but I'm worried it won't actually work. Plus will be super inconvenient having a giant wound on my hand.

I don't really want to try Bazooka or salicylic acid because it seems like they don't often actually work.

Any kiwis had success in home wart obliteration?
 
My brother had warts on his hand and got rid of em somehow. I'll call him later and will edit when I find out what he did.

edit: he froze em. seems like that's a popular suggestion.

Chemical freeze sticks for warts are available over the counter in skin care. They usually have more than one in a pack so you can do it a few times if you need to. Also good for skin tags in inconvenient places.

Other than that you could pick them off your skin and wear bandaids for a bit. I suspect picking them off will be part of any method you use.
 
Fucking go see a dermatologist you utter spoon. Have it diagnosed. You could have been home free in under a week. You're not gonna get my luck and scrape it completely off by sliding on concrete.
 
Get an OTC wart remover, or see a dermatologist. I once got rid of one by wrapping a string around it and starving it of blood or whatever. It fell off after a few days.

Good advice.

Go see a doctor as could be a sign of something more serious and you should get a biopsy and removal at same time. Cut off or burned off, but probably cut off seeing as the warts are on your hands. Burned off takes far longer to heal.
 
I'm assuming it's very obviously a wart and not some weird lesion you're just calling a wart. If you have any doubt about its identity then have a doctor look at it.

All that meme home health stuff won't really do anything for warts. Freeze it with one of those OTC kits or cut it off. The only time I've ever had a wart I just carved it out with a box cutter and it never came back. If you're prone to hypertrophic scarring or keloid scars then try gentler approaches first. If you have a compromised immune system or anything like that then just pay a doctor to do it.

If you plan to cut it out then make sure you wash and dry the area, wash your hands, and sterilize any equipment that will touch the wound. If you want to be a little extra you can cover the area in betadine (povidone-iodine) before starting. If you don't like the thought of a box cutter or knife then you can buy scalpel handles and individually wrapped sterile blades from craft supply stores. If you want to take the edge off you can get lidocaine gel from tattoo supply stores. It takes a while to absorb into the skin so you rub heaps on and wait for a while. It wont completely numb it as lidocaine doesnt absorb well through skin but it might numb it a little. As long as you're healthy and clean then most of this is completely unnecessary for a wart removal.

If it gets infected then just go see a doctor and say you had a wart there but snagged it on something and it ripped off.

I had a plantar wart in college on the front of my big toe. I gouged it out with a Benchmade. Hurt like hell but it worked. Surprised my toe healed with little scaring.

Probably should have froze it
 
Apple Cider Vinegar actually works. You just have to soak the little bastards with it until they get hydrated and "puffs up" a bit. Then just leave it alone and let it dry. It'll pretty much scab right up and you can pull it out painlessly. It should take less than 10 days. You can pick up a bottle of it in any grocery store for under 10 bucks.
 
I have had a wart on my nose (yes, right smack on my nose) for the past couple years now. I believe it is a pigmented seborrhoeic keratosis. It has not gotten bigger, nor has it gotten smaller.
I do not dare try the home removal kits because I am not confident I will not destroy my nose in the process.
What do my fellow Farmers recommend as a course of action?
