$ (BAT) Basic Attention Token

I know it's in the site announcements, but just to be clear, the 'send a tip' function works when viewing the site? Or does the BAT need to be sent some other special way?

Being that at some point Brave might go away its best to get as much of it as you can and send it to null while it still has some value to it. He's gotta bit some of that coin!

BAT is now plummeting below $0.20, so I'm not gonna bother having my different user windows open to farm it. But I have noticed more Brave ads on my phone lately, 20 a day instead of 5 like last month.

I've been getting tons of Brave ads on my phone too. And not just when I'm browsing anymore either. Even with the browser closed I'm getting ads. I go to bed, and when I wake up there's like 20 Brave notifications stacked up on my screen. My phone buzzes in my pocket and I think someone's texting me. Nope. Ads.

I love the browser, and so far between this and my PC I've tossed roughly $20 at Null, but I'm about to turn the ads off, at least on mobile.

What did we expect? they went woke when they deplattformed @Null . Its was a realy realy stupid move to go after the people who would use a crypto to directly support creators.
you dont need BAT to support people who have plenty of ways to be supported.

Let's be real, "banning" the farms was a microblip in the bigger Brave/BAT picture. The price was already dropping. Altcoins in general have been shitting the bed.

So a few days ago Brave started advertising in Australia (finally!). Can anyone with some experience tell me, when you get a notification of an ad, do you have view it to earn BAT?

Once you click the notification it'll open another tab. Once the tab loads you can close it instantly and get the BAT.
On a side note, I've noticed the value of BAT has gone up some.

You don't actually have to click. As long as the ad tab pops up its counted, I think even if you X it to close it.

Does anyone know what file contains the BAT wallet on Android, for backup purposes?

How many ads do you guys usually get each month? I noticed that the daily amount can vary quite a bit.
 
So, apparently Brave is reducing the rewards for referrals from third world countries (lowest $1.00), while increasing them for first world countries (highest $7.50), and shithole dwellers are already starting to lose their shit because of the lower gibs. :story:

The per user payout rate will be changing from $5 globally to variable rates depending upon the region of the user
Why are we doing this?
When we launched the referral program, the goal was to discover which areas would we see the most growth and to test the viability of the referral program as a whole. Our level of zoom was pretty wide (Planet Earth) and the rate was $5 per user, globally.
Since then, we have launched our Ads program and we want to shift our level of zoom to more regional efforts, with a specific focus on the areas where we can deliver ads. This is a straightforward business decision.
When will this occur?
We wanted to give you as much advance notice as possible, especially for those of you who are promoting Brave via ads.
Here is the planned timeline
August
  • Initial message (this email) explaining the rate change and timeline
September
  • Announcement posts and reminder email regarding the new rates.
  • Rates change
October
  • Last payout of $5 referral
November
  • The referral dashboard will be updated to reflect the new rates.
  • First rate card based payout
Here are the rate changes which will be effective on December 1st payout, 2019
Each country is assigned to a tier, each tier has a flat rate.
