Battlefield General - Discuss the series here

Well I'm sure I'm going to be disappointed with it, but I think I might stay up til it goes fully public in 3 hours and try a few matches out. Fuck it. Nothing else to do tonight. I'm not watching fucking twitch for a stupid code.

Will do. My favorite HD era battlefield was bad company 2, so I'm not sure I'm the most credible judge anyway. I did really like 3, 4, 1, and 5 though. Couldn't stand 2042, and never tried hardline. Coming back to modern era seems like it could be fun.

A lot of people are comparing it to Bad Company 2 but I'm not a firm judge if it since I didn't get a chance to play it

Ngl it looks like it’s kind of fun to hack in games that call themselves “unhackable” and post it online to gloat.
Source of EA claiming the game is unhackable?

The anticheat team have given this update: https://forums.ea.com/discussions/b...ield-6-update-on-secure-boot--cheats/12439803

"Since Open Beta Early Access’s launch:

  • Javelin has prevented 330,000 attempts to cheat or tamper with anti-cheat controls.
  • You’ve reported 44,000 instances of potential cheaters during day one and another 60,000 so far today.
  • We are already using these with our own Gameplay Integrity team to add and improve our detections for Battlefield 6. They are also working with the Battlefield Positive Play team, to actively remove those reported we confirm to be cheaters.
Anti-Cheat isn't one and done, it's an ever evolving battlefield, and what has worked for us previously or in different games doesn't always work in all of them."

Doesn't sound like they're claiming the anticheating is unhackable at all.

Looks like im out of the beta. I have Windows 10 on dual boot but its not on a GPT-formatted drive (which supports secure boot), reformatting it would be a double pain in my ass and the beta period would likely be over by the time I got everything working. Not completely without hope but I'll probably have to wait for the full release, unfortunately.

"Ackshually they never said the game is unhackable, they just said the anticheat was really really strong! Of course they expected cheaters anyway! ☝️🤓"
If asking the end user to fuck with their BIOS settings wasn't even a guarantee that there are no cheaters, then they're admitting they did it for shits and to see how much their beaten fanbase will run defense for them.
Sure owned me, man.

Reactions: Total Annihilation
Ended up snagging a code.

Not a fan of the maps so far, feels like I'm constantly getting shot in the back. Likely a skill issue on my part.

Gunplay is alright, not making as many shots as I should but that's on me, gotta get used to it. Shotgun is wrecking though.

I think you’d enjoy it.
It reminds me the most of bad company 2. Smaller maps, increased destruction, and slow/mighty ground vehicles. Mixed with BF3/4 and MW19.

The anticheat team will only be active for a year on BF6, maybe 2 if the game is making fuck tons of money then the anticheat team are shuffled to a new project and all future hacks will be uncontested and undetected for the rest of the games lifespan. Thats the cycle for almost every EA game

Would sure be nice if we had community servers with admins who could ban these cheaters

I had crazy cpu frametime pulsing when I tried the game on the Origin Ea App. like constant heartbeat drops it was so annoying. I switched to the steam version + Driver update/chip update and it seems fixed.
More games should have that graphics preview benchmark like that movie game with the BPD skizo 🐥 (Hell something Hellblade)

Secure boot has been around since Windows 8 and should be the default for any computer meeting the minimum system requirements for BF6. If EA can use that standard feature to reduce cheating, I'm happy for them to do so. If a minority are running non-standard setups and don't want to reconfigure things, bad luck I guess?

One thing I will say is I don't even play sniper, but the scope glare is ridiculous. It's like they have an led flashlight attached to it.

I'm going to simp a bit more for EA on the anticheat, but some credit should be given that they backported the BF2042 anticheat to BFV and BF1 in the last year. Think it was likely motivated to try and gain some goodwill back from the core BF community!
