The first group will lose interest really quickly, especially since they're comprised of people who for the most part don't play video games or at least not to the same extent as hardcore gamers. They'll either praise the game for a couple of weeks if it turns out to be fun or if it turns out like Far Cry 5 it will be skipped altogether the second it turns out to not be as left leaning as first trailers suggested.
(I was actually a little dissapointed Far Cry 5 didn't have you gunning down rapey neckbeards and bible thumpers, possibly having a more humorous town and being kind of self-aware like the only good game in this series Blood Dragon, but instead had a generic cult with generic minions. Especially since the boxart and ads suggested they wanted to do the former, but didn't have the balls to go through with it. Oh well, not like I can't massacre red necks in Manhunt)
Let's be real, the worst things to happen to gaming because of Leftists were Bravely Second and Fire Emblem Fates getting censored in America, and even then only weeaboos give a shit about either.
Most of the time Leftist Nonsense in gaming just shows up in the form of journalists who scream a game is racist when they're too fucking stupid to pass a tutorial stage with on-screen instructions.
I mean we got that shitty Baldur's Gate midquel which completely destroys the characterization of your female party members, but it's a forced extra chapter for a game old enough to buy a beer in America, it was going to suck anyway.
However I did get a big laugh from Gamergate trying to scream bloody murder that an optional killable NPC being transgender completely destroyed any realism in the setting, because "IT TAKES PLACE IN THE MIDDLE AGES! THEY DIDN'T HAVE TRANNIES BACK THEN!1111"
Even though if they actually played Baldur's Gate instead of being reactionary fucktards. They'd know Baldur's Gate doesn't take in the Middle Ages, it takes place in a parallel dimension full of magic. They'd also know that not only do Baldur's Gate 1 and 2 have "The Girdle Of Masculinity/Feminity" which changes the gender of the character wearing it (Meaning you could be transgender yourself), but some stupid nameless NPC wasn't the first character to have transgender themes to their story. That honor goes to Edwina in Baldur's Gate 2 who between games was cursed to become a woman and as a result experience ridicule and gender dysphoria.
This not some obscure Baldur's Gate trivia or some detail buried in a vague sentence of some tie-in novel, it's something you'd know if you took even a cursory glance at the series.
However, we're talking about manchildren who will cry foul if a woman shows up in a game not half-naked and making sandwiches. Oh if these people were around back then they'd be screaming about how in Resident Evil "The woman's campaign is easier! Resident Evil is misandrist and promotes communism! Umbrella being an evil pharmacy company is just Capcom trying to please the Universal Healthcare people!1111 PANDERING!1111"
I mean shit, just look at the rage that ensued when Tracer from Overwatch turned out to be gay. "Oh no a fictional character doesn't like penises! I thought for sure she'd be my girlfriend if she were real!"

This isn't to say there aren't games with blatantly leftist leans. Just for the sake of being fair and balance, I'll name some popular Leftist Gaming examples.
For example, the BioShock series being one giant middle finger to Conservatives, most blatantly in Infinite, but you can definitely see it in the first game. Also the story overall sucks, hey 2K Games would you kindly hire an actual writing staff?
Overwatch as mentioned before, Tracer being gay changes nothing, but they still only did it to please leftists, and even if we didn't have that we still have... Zarya who looks like the postergirl for Tumblr, 3/4 of the characters are non-white in the overly bloated cast. The fact that Iraq is shown to be a lush oasis paradise is definitely the most blatant.
However I will say this. Overwatch is at least fun and doesn't take place in one specific country, and is set in the far future so at least Blizzard did their homework to try and justify their decisions.

I wasn't, people actually shat themselves over Wolfenstein 2 being a game about Nazis taking over America and you haven't to kill Nazis. The game even had the slogan "Make America Nazi Free Again", but even that's not much to go on. Pretty sure hating nazis is kind of something everyone not named Richard Spencer does.
I mean yeah, people called Trump Supporters Nazis, and compared Trump's election to a Russian/Nazi takeover of the US... but it's very obviously concidence. Especially since yes I have played both the older and newer Wolfenstein games, the game Wolfenstein 2 is a sequel to is one about Nazis winning WW2, of course they'd take over America afterwards that's where the plot was logically heading to being with.
Seriously just watch the game's ads, they're mostly just Fake German TV Shows that exist in this Nazi version of America
