If true, EA has learned nothing about their Battlefield playerbase. They want pure large scale conflicts, not gimmicks. Hardline itself was a gimmick that did not perform as well as expected. (Yes, I'm still bitter of EA's handling with Hardline and Visceral.) Firestorm was DOA because of BFV's marketing and Apex Legends taking over the battle royale market.
 
What's funny is that Battlefield HAS the prerequisites for a decent battle royale concept in its DNA. Large scale maps, team based classes, vehicular combat, primary cooperation. Then again, so does Halo. It tells me that EA cannot properly implement battle royale into Battlefield or that the Battlefield audience does not want it.

Of course, Battlefield's mantra is to PTFO. (Play the fucking objective.) Now, what gets me is that CoD's formula SHOULDN'T work for battle royale since it's mainly run and gun. Yet, they made it work from MW2019 onward. Of course, I'd like to argue that MW2019 is Battlefield lite.

the question is also what would a BF BR add that hasn't been done better by other games already? milsim-fags and their lite arcade brethren don't care for all the fortnite gimmick shit, and for the rest of the BR playerbase a "boots on the ground" BF BR would be too boring. so who is this even for?

It's like the extraction mode in BF2042, nobody is playing it. The Tarkov players play the Tarkov game, why would they swtich to another game?
 
Bump, as Season 7 will be called Turning Point:

It sounds like the Turning Point will be when DICE stops support for BF2042.
 
What on earth is that outfit and gun? This shit looks like discount nu-COD. Remember when Battlefield would at least try to be historically accurate pre BFV, in contrast with whatever the hell COD was doing? I guess it's mindless trend chasing after the COD dragon time again, except that COD itself is now a mindless trend chaser itself. That would make Battlefield a second rate trend chaser then.
 
If this is the final season (judging by the small amount of work made by DICE), they better start talking about what Vince Zampella is cooking.
