Irish from Battlefield 4 was voiced by the late Michael K. Williams, correct? He's an operator in BF2042 from what I can tell.

One of his operator voice lines was: "no action hero BS." I wish 2042 and DICE listened to Irish. Did they just completely patch out the operator lines?

Correct and somewhat. They removed all the Fortnite victory lines and changed all the silly ones at the match start. Last I checked Irish still sounded the same, but Mackay sounds the most different. Everything he said before is now absent, so he doesn't sound like the wannabe TF2 Scout anymore.
 
Week 3 battlepass missions dropped and they kinda suck

I cannot find any Portal server to connect in. Hell, I had a hard time trying to connect to a 2042 FFA mode,

The EZ-EXP servers don't show up by default since people keep making the ridiculous AFK XP ones that crash the game. Usually you can find a few of them using the search function.

I typically play the solo/co-op servers for the achievements. I know challenges don't count for unofficial servers, so that's a bummer. I'm just at level 12 for the battle pass. I don't play 2042 that much because the UI just bugs me.
 
I wish the solo/co-op mode and Portal could allow you to unlock everything but as usual with DICE it's no fun allowed. You can only unlock stuff up to a certain tier, then it's multiplayer only, which is ridiculous because some outfits (the black and red one) are way too grindy. I saw that Irish has a new outfit that you can only obtain if you play 50 games of Friday Night Battlefield.

I unlocked most of the Tier 1 (red and black) outfits fairly easily, and most can be unlocked in Redacted. The worst ones are Boris, Lis and Zain - Boris and Zain because they take way too fucking long for the amount they want you to accomplish, but also Boris because the turret is now nerfed, lame and gay. Lis requires kills or assists and her rocket can't guarantee either, at least with the other specialists most of their requirements can have dozens of each accomplished per game.
 
People have found out how to unlock the Phantom skins for the Assault and Support characters.
The headgear is cringe but you can equip the uniform and the headgear individually.

True and you can't do it in solo/co-op because the scope glitches after you fired once.

"Objective Airdrops Performed". It's annoying that they can't be bothered explaining this NOT calling down vehicle airdrops on objective or Angel's crate. Apparently it's being earned by either being a helicopter pilot and having teammates jump out over an objective your team has yet to cap. But apparently people are getting it as a MAV driver too.

Edit: So I tried MAV driving into an objective and dropping off teammates, and it didn't work. I hate these pilot specific challenges since I'm terrible at flying. It's just encouraging people shitty pilots like myself to waste helicopters.

If Battlefield does another battle royale, it's going to die like Firestorm within a few month's time. All those resources for something the Battlefield community proved they don't even WANT will take away from the long term investment of 6.

I feel that if they follow the Warzone route of making it free and then not ruining it with later installments' weapons, as Warzone did, it will be fine. Something for the COD fags to go latch onto.

I do enjoy BR's but that's mainly because I like the gameplay loop, it feels like larger Search and Destroy without the bomb objective. Don't get me wrong, I get why people don't like them so I won't judge. but I don't think it will take away from the main game at all.

EA probably assigned a studio to do the battle royale/Firestorm mode like they got EA Motive to work on the campaign.

Which also kind of ties into what I said, Ripple Effect is working on the BR so they'll probably be in charge of balancing said BR, leaving DICE or whoever is working on the normal MP to balance that. So I doubt the BR is going to suddenly "kill" the MP, especially when Conquest has always been the default mode people flock to.

Hell in BF V I'm pretty sure Conquest killed Firestorm, Firestorm had it's issues but the main thing was that no one wanted to play it when Conquest was right there.
