Crossplay cancer incoming:

Battlefield 6 Does Not Have A Console-Only Crossplay Mode, EA Clarifies

Allegedly the PC version won't even have a Crossplay option, and will just be matched with PC and console players alike. If the console crossplay is turned off, the player can only be matched with players of their chosen platform.

Hopefully PC players will figure out a workaround to this, as I don't like crossplay much either. The best version of 2042 was the PS4 version, in that the only crossplay was with XBox, and PC was nowhere to be found.

According to a leak on Reddit, the two Operator skins from the BF2042 pass are both female-only:

Reddit: Final Version of the Two New Skins From the Road to Battlefield 6 Pass

The skins are linked to specific operators that have names in the build. This would suggest that they're soft Specialists in that they have gender-locked skins. Inexplicably, the Chinese Engineer skin is allegedly tied to NATO, not Pax Armata.

So trailer has stronk woman in it who i'm assuming is going to be like your squad leader or some shit, which is a bit cringe.

Look on the bright side, maybe we'll get to kill her like Blackburn did in Battlefield 3...we know that isn't going to happen

I was more worried about them going full retard and having you play as a woman the whole way. If it's just one mouthy squad leader and not a journey of emasculating every male in the story, I won't mind. Not worse than making Farah the leader of the Arabs in MW2019.

Them forcing PC players to have crossplay on tells me they're not confident about long term player retention. Got to get them to play together otherwise wait times for joining matches will be longer in the future.

That and it's just more streamlining development.

I don't see an issue with an instant 180 button.

It's a very arcadey and ancient mechanic. The only FPS games that come to my mind to have those as actual keybinds were the Quake games and the Unreal Tournament games. It's fine if both control types have it, but I hope they integrate an animation into it somehow. Maybe make it not instantaneous, but make it a hard halt and turn around. I'm sure it's something only a small handful of players will utilize. Most people just increase their sensitivity and adjust to being more aware of their position. I'm getting to the age where my reflexes aren't what they were in the CAL days so I have to rely on positioning and map knowledge over reaction snapshots (i.e. "like an old fucking man").

2042 allowed you to disable crossplay, but because it's on by default you will practically never find a match that isn't almost entirely bots.

IGN also posted this preview of the campaign and they seem very positive about it...

These three previews from Youtubers not so positive.

If the MW reboots looked like that campaign slice, it'd be fine. I don't know any plot points, but it looks serviceable. I see people complaining that it's just MP with bots scattered around.

The main complaints I've heard is that it's janky, with shortcuts to animations, graphics and AI.

Not sure what to think of it yet. I enjoyed BC2, BF3 and BF4's campaigns, but I think proponents are looking at them with glasses that are too rose-coloured. They were good, but they didn't stand out at the time because they came out during the original Modern Warfare run, and didn't have any notable sticking points. The closest thing they had was a nuke going off, but it didn't feel the same like in MW1. The best one for me was Bad Company 2 even though I liked the modern era of the mainline Battlefields more.

I am getting original and nu MW trilogy vibes from this game's single player campaign. Chasing a train through a subway tunnel, travelling across a destroyed bridge, and isn't that Farrah's voice actress barking orders at the marines?
