Having a pretty good time all things considered, it's just such a shame that Closed Weapons:
A. Has only one spot in the Multiplayer and its All-Out Warfare only
B. You can't select it when filtering for maps and gamemodes

A big plus for me is that skins are faction locked, and the ones present as of now are like old skins (BF4) that just add a different camo color to your character.

So is it broken?
From what I little read so far, the main issues are poor balancing and anti-cheat being a joke still since apparently certain bypasses from BFV still work (now you just need to get past the secure boot, which has already been done and I've heard of multiple cheaters spotted). Speaking of which, console doesn't seem to have these or similar anti-cheat methods because there's something called a "Cronus" device that is not detected (looks like an Action Replay lol)? Still need to look around more, but macros still exist too on PC, combine that with the retarded built-in "flick" feature and I can see it being easier to abuse the fuck out this game.
EA's solution for console users cheating is to tell you to disable crossplay, which is fine by me if I was a player but it's still a lazy solution. Optimization I hear is dogshit still, expect people to tell you to use DLSS and whatnot because optimization is an art unknown to pajeets. Read a few more things that are busted but I believe these were mechanics in other BF games or will get fixed not too long from now, and since I'll probably never play this game I can't speak on how it's implemented. It's too early to say so I'd wait another day or two to see just how broken it is. Campaign from what I have seen looks awful and rushed like they didn't want to do it but would get their ass roasted for not having one, so pirating for the campaign doesn't seem work it. Voice acting sounds cheap and by interns, the "tacticool" gear the main(?) soldiers have look cheap as well (someone said they look like airsoft), and of course people immediately went "b-but the campaign was never the focus!" Shows they played anything before V at best, let alone BC1/2 and BF3.
Again, too early to say, so if anyone wants to share their thoughts, please do.

INB4 they go the CoD/Fortnite route with future skins.

Played a few matches this evening and it’s been good fun. Most all of my deaths have been down to me being bad or straight up getting outplayed. I’m sure that will mostly come right as I get better and learn the maps. I know there’s been some comment on the action being slowed down but personally I’m happy with the speed of the game, especially now I’m getting older and slower. Although I must say the menus are really unintuitive. At the game doesn’t use that god awful left analogue stick pretending to be a mouse piece of shit menu system that most games seem to default to nowadays.
Performance wise, the game runs great in performance mode on PS5 Pro on a 4k/120 VRR OLED.

I'm really happy the vehicle models are unique to each faction. I had a feeling it was only like that for the beta, but you never know with modern AAA gaming.

Played both closed-weapon and open-weapon gamemodes.

The average IQ of players is higher in closed weapon warfare then open weapon warfare which is expected.

Keep all of us up to date and schedule games if any of you niggers decide to open a server, it's fun.

I wish I could levolution the shit out of the buildings on the Cairo map. There was an entire squad camping at the top and it was near impossible to get rid of them.
I have to try the closed weapon game mode.

Seems good to me, played a game and enjoyed it a lot. Shotgun is still powerful at close range AS IT SHOULD BE. The ammo is split between the primary and second primary, and if you remove the second you'll get full ammo as normal on the primary - an interesting balance choice.

Didn't feel hard to get to the action, played console-only closed weapons and the match started with some bots which were replaced over time by real players. I'm glad to see people are using these options as I never got a crossplay-off game in 2042's PS5 version near the beginning or at the end of its life cycle.

I wish they would let you have separate loadouts for the different factions though, like I could have a NATO loadout and a PAX loadout. So far that's my only gripe, but that's been a problem across multiple Battlefields for a while.

They kind of let you do at least in a weird way. Each class has a "Custom" loadout which I guess is a second load out slot that you can edit. If you're feeling autistic enough once you unlock it you can edit one and just name it Pax Armata and then name the other one NATO or something.

Does that affect weapons selected? One of the ways I kept previous Battlefields interesting was I tried sticking to guns relative to the faction I was playing. Russia got the AKs, US got the M4 , etc.

I played the beta and waited a lil bit to make sure there wasn't a major malfunction with the game before I bought it today. It's downloading and THANK GOD its only 71 gigs and not the massive 170 gb pile of shit MW2 (the second one) was.
Even better, Each part of the game is separated into DLC parts.

Don't want to have the campaign or HD textures installed? disable them in the steam DLCs section under your game.

Edit: I can tell crossplay is on because I'm getting that open mic goodness complete with mouth breathing, indians and beaners with 5-6 kids running around in the background, and groids bix nuding about how "bro, this game fucking sucks, why'd I buy this shit?"

Good times.

Is the game any good? $70 is steep and I saw some skins with the typical out of place art style sloppa making me hesitant

Should I wait and pick it up on sale?

Man, I need to get back in the groove. I was getting felted the first couple hours but I'm getting back to kicking ass. Doesn't help that the default AR is a hunk of shit.
Yeah, it's only alright short range which is worthless since you already have the shotgun. I switched to the DMR until I unlock a good AR

IDK how but breakthrough feels even more unbalanced than in the Beta, it's impossible for the attackers to win. They need to do some mixture of giving the attackers more tickets/decreasing the recapture rate/moving the defenders spawn back/making the defenders take longer to respawn pronto/something else, pronto.

Am I blind or is there no way to see class counts for the team? Seems like something that should be displayed above each class in the deployment screen. It's always a helpful indicator for whether there's not enough support or engineers on the team.

The menu also needs a search function or ability to quickly tab between where the exact menu location. I've got my settings in a good place now, but would still be helpful for tweaking things.
