I don't understand how spotting works. Either it's inconsistent or I'm missing something?
what specifically are you having trouble with?

Someone made a laserbeam M4 build

I think they overcorrected on the movement, it feels sluggish compared to 2042 and the beta.
Sliding should lock you in a forward 30 degree cone of crosshair movement. The fact you can shoot at someone sliding away from you and not be given a free kill is nuts. I play slow and defensively and I still lose to people who just 420 sprint around because of "movement tech".
I hate that half the classes are women. I don't want to listen to dumb bitch noises when I play.

At least it ain't this bad. This is the most tranny looking woman I've ever seen shat out by a diverse studio. Nothing about her is distinctly troony, but the colors, the nonsensical tattoos, the gun fetishism and of course being a genius in robotics and finance and STILL choosing to shoot up people and prove how bad ass they are. That's troony.

I was about to say the movement doesn't feel that slow to me. Apparently, pulling out your knife or pistol also makes you run faster.

I haven't seen people doing too much of the obnoxious shit from the Beta, though, like sliding around corners or jump shotting, so that's a plus.

I fucking hate the shoehorned female characters too but It's not as bad as BFV's horrible voice acting the women had and plus I expected some bait and switch shit, you're not getting battlefield 3/4 where its purely Chinese/Russian men vs white US men in current year from a AAA company, it's just not going to happen.

I'm also that guy that listens to music/videos/podcasts while playing videogames these days so it drowns it out. No you can't customize the male/female character models/voices in any way aside from the uniform camo and patches.

I'll turn off soldier and campaign VO under audio to see if that does anything.

Edit: @BingBongDingDong yep, turn off soldier and campaign VO in audio settings.

Also, I know SBMM is real but it feels like 75% of my matches tonight are this:

I unlocked the G36 and Spear which feel like they do shit unlike the default AR.

No, tomorrow is just one of my usual days off, and I got off work earlier today.
The spear is great, stick it on semi auto and post up at a weird angle and click on heads

Talking more about the overall feel of movement, all the jump-cancelling nonsense go fuck right off, but it just feels like you're walking knee-deep through molasses.

Maybe I'm overreacting, just feels like I've been gypped with what was show in the beta.

Doesn't seem that slow to me. Reminds me of CS: Source, including pulling out your knife to move faster. I generally find myself getting to the action faster than in 2042's maps, but that might be the maps are generally smaller.

Not to derail the thread, but you wanna know the saddest part? The actress that plays that “troon-looking” woman (Kiernan Shipka) is actually beautiful in real life. Something must be going on at the face capturing studio when the real life model looks worse in video game. The same can be said with Sevati Dumas in BO6.

This seems to be the woman responsible for deciding whats gonna happen with BF6. Shes the lead producer and a nutcase.

Her replies is filled with her owning the chuds. I just can't understand why you would hire somebody who's obviously not a gamer.

So is it shit?

I saw that it has a PMC as the peer enemy of NATO and I cringed to death.
The main game fixed a lot of problems with the beta. I haven't played any singleplayer, but the basic combat loop is good, and I have barely messed around with any of the gadgets or upgrades.
The biggest issue I have is limited maps. The urban maps feel claustrophobic in a silly way, and there doesn't feel like there are really great large scale maps.

The game's "scenarios" just feel like an excuse to have a spectacle battle. I don't feel like its any kind of real peer to peer fight.

What a stupid bitch.

Man, LMGs are just kinda fucking bad. If you play any other way except stationary on an angle or sight line you get your shit rocked. There's basically 0 reason to use them as support when open weapons means you can run a fucking laser beam assault rifle which will 90% of the same role. Whatever braindead monkey nigger went with open weapons needs to barred from ever making video games ever again. Closed weapons is so shut off from the rest of the game that it's almost offensive that it's even there.

The name "open" and "closed" weapons in and of itself is surely by design as well. The immediate impression it gets is that one is good and one is bad. They should've gone with someting like "classic" or "legacy" and made it a complete thing instead of a single mode under matchmaking with only two game modes or portal exclusive. Shit is just frustrating all around since open and closed is making weapon balance being total dogshit even more obvious.

ALSO I Just found out that supposedly suppression doesn't actually count if you damage the enemy at all. Have fun unlocking the ultimax and M240B by intentionally shooting around enemies and hoping your team mates clean them up. What a fucking joke.

Sometimes I will clearly see someone, click to spot, and it wont spot them. Do you have to be perfectly precise, or is there something extra there? I had 1000+ hours in BF4 and didn't have any problems with spotting, so I'm wondering what the difference is.

She shouldn't be making those few snide replies to potential customers, but from scrolling through a couple of months of her Xitter doesn't seem to be 'filled with her owning the chuds'. For the most part, just seems like pretty normal and inoffensive engagement. Those couple of Xeets you've shown area really quite mild, especially compared to people like Randy Pitchford that are aggressively rude towards customers.

Man some of those challenges are fucking horseshit. That 'get kills on concussed players' was fucking miserable to get through, and I got lucky on the shotgun challenge with 5 tards clogging up a hallway on Cairo. I'm seeing shit like 30 headshot kills in one game and I'm just rolling my eyes.

I know it's not the intended way to unlock shit but you can find bot lobbies that are meant for weapon unlocks that you can get stuff unlocked pretty easily, apparently

There is (probably) a cool down for non recon classes. I believe that’s been standard for spotting for a while now. To prevent spot spam there is a cooldown on the spot button

I'll say overall I'm very happy with the game after a could days with the full product. I find it weird that support is only females but I imagine that will be fixed with some kind of bullshit seasonal content eventually. Some of the challenges are annoying but grinding them out on bots is an option so I'll probably end up doing that for anything super goofy. Truthfully I've mostly alternated between using the first carbine you get, and the first shotgun you get and top the scoreboard fairly regularly. I got the chance to play with my brother some this weekend and it felt like classic battlefield, hoping in a tank and decimating the other team. I'm going to call it an 8/10 now, even with my little irks I have its still super enjoyable to play and even moreso with friends.

Just had the best match of Breakthrough on Columbia Heights. We were on the last point, and my squad basically sat on A and held the entire thing. We had Trophy Systems blocking grenades, two supports clearing the stairs with their LMGs, me running around with an SMG, clearing the point, and our last squad member, who was a rando, twiddling their thumbs. We were the top squad by 5,000 points.

This is quickly becoming my favorite modern battlefield game, despite some of the issues that I have with it.

Let me guess: Support is female.

Yeah, every support in the game, from what I can see, is female, which has pushed me off the class. At least the other three classes have male options once you unlock them, as far as I can tell.
