After a few days of playing Recon exclusively, I've finally finished the Deadeye assignment. The first part (getting DMR kills/damage past 75m) was the worst of it because most of the DMRs are ass at the moment. The 150 headshots kills at 200m surprisingly didn't take that long. The PSR comes with a 10x optic from unlock, but has lower bullet velocity than the starting sniper rifle with an extended barrel. Definitely feels like more of a flex weapon at the moment since it doesn't have half the "essential" shit I've unlocked on the M2010 ESR.

A tip for snipers out there, bullet drop is basically non-existent in this Battlefield. The rangefinder is a point trap because your shots will be sighted in up to around 170m on 100m and 270 on 200m. There are so few sight lines in this game where you'll be able to consistently shoot past 300m. I relied mostly on Liberation Peak and Operation Firestorm on Breakthrough for the vast majority of my assignment progress.

Is th SL9 and that one weird sniper a canary in the coal mine that BF6 might introduce more fake and gay fictional guns instead of cool IRL guns due to muh "PrEveNtiNG Gun vIolEnce" like what CoD does now?

I know the SL9 is a bullshit gun, but as far as I know, all the sniper rifles are "real". The M2010 ESR is a M24 variant, the SV-98 is, well, an SV-98, and the PSR (PSR SOCOM) is a Barrett MRAD based off the 98B. I don't even mind the SL9 because I would lowkey buy a PDW with a side-loading mechanism that looks like it would take Glock magazines. It's like a strange hybrid of the PP-19 and the P90. Unfortunately it definitely seems like it would be a KelTec design. Stolen from a meme page:

If I remember correctly, Call of Duty was the ground zero of licensed firearms in video games issue. I believe it was Remington who ended up catching a lawsuit over "video game violence" with the ACR in MW2. If it's foreign or fictional, most game studios don't give a shit. If it's domestic, it's an issue of copywriting/trademarking and firearm manufacturers generally not wanting to be directly implicated. You will never see an actual H&K licensed gun in a modern game because H&K actively despises its consumer base (yet still love their money). I guess you could consider the retooled L85A3 as their showing. After 40 years and billions of British pounds, the British troops finally have a weapon that can be described as "adequate".

To be slightly fair to The Finals, the entire premise is that it's a game show.
I'm surprised no one has done a new Smash TV.

As an update to this, my progress hasn't updated for 2 days despite playing support every other game. I'm genuinely fuming about it. They made these challenges so tedious and like half of them straight up don't fucking work.
Track the challenge (your probably already doing that lol) and instead of using the curated lists join a game through the custom search. That's how I've fixed stuck challenges.

Yea, it wasn't working through normal matchmaking, which is what I've been playing. Joined a portal server with a bunch of dudes experiencing the same thing and got it done in less than 5 minutes. Every real player had 600hp and friendly fire was on. Sat there shooting a guy in the dick while he sat on a supply pack. I don't even feel bad about it since I spent the last 2 days with it not tracking. The update this morning, I assume, was supposed to fix all the shit not working. They're embarrassed and didn't want people to know how much was broken so they just put that it was a "minor backend stability patch" lmao

I've put a user.cfg that is supposed to help better use my AMD GPU. I think it makes it better.

Yet my frames in a 64 player match will drop to 50s. Even with GPU only being at 50 or 60 % CPU around 60 to 70 %.

With graphics all on mainly low settings.

Anyone have any clue? There's either some bottleneck of a lack of optimization. All the other BF games run really well on my machine. When the games in Domination or other close quater modes I'm getting over 100fps and its smooth.
I did the same thing and noticed the same issue, I think what's going on is the config is forcing your GPU to pick up more of the slack. Before when my CPU was hitting 100 percent my GPU was sitting at like 40 percent util, after my GPU and CPU were both even on util. So I think it's causing your GPU to be used more, which is causing frame drops, maybe?

The game runs better with the config, but I find I still have it going full retard and barely running. In smaller maps and modes it is fine, performance isn't where it should be but good enough. Then I'll be doing 64 player escalation on Manhatten Bridge and it's 50fps, rubber banding, slow mo micro stutters. It is awful and unplayable. Yet I have played that map in big modes and been fine.

There is something going on that is fucking up the performance and I have no clue. My CPU is never maxed playing it.

PC specs? Also post all your graphics settings. Some settings like to kill performance while not really impacting the image in a meaningful way.

I'm a lucky bastard with a 5090; but it's nice to get 144 fps on 4k with everything maxxed out. In most other games (ie: UE5), I only get 100 fps at most.
BF6 is a refreshing change from most other modern titles that not only struggle with delivering high framerates, but also have major issues with stuttering. I have a 5090 too, but have a super ultrawide. I'm using mostly ultra settings, but textures at overkill and DLAA at native res (5120x1440), no framegen. With those settings I'm getting a consistent 116 FPS which is the limit I've set in the NVidia app.

Absolutely fucking steamrolled as a tank gunner on liberation peak. Add in one pistol kill.

And most importantly, we won.

Bruh how does your tank even stay alive that long?? Every game where I have the hubris to think I can Tank I have exactly 0 engineers on my team so no heals outside of the tanks regen and the enemy team has like 20 engineers all firing rockets at me at the same time. I have lasted at most like 10 min tops.

I think the game has a mechanic where the engineer can get out of his seat and the tank locks the seat so no one can steal it. Makes it easier for you to repair. But also, most tanks I've seen when they get into a fight immediately reverse out of it to go heal.

Battlefield 6 Progression Changes Now Live.

Following our latest Community Update indicating our intent to improve progression, the following changes will gradually roll out across all platforms over the next couple of hours.

Match Completion XP per min increased by 10%

XP from Daily Challenges increased by 40%

The XP needed to unlock the first 20 Attachment Ranks has been reduced.

Please Note: For weapons that are already being progressed, the UI might display something inaccurate at first; this will resolve once a match has been played with that weapon. Assignments requiring Career Ranks 20, 23, and 26 to begin will now require Career Ranks 10, 15, and 20, respectively. As stated within the Community Update, we are aware of the frustrations regarding the challenges themselves. We are actively working on reviewing them, but it will take more time to develop, test, and implement these changes.

Thank you for your continued support and patience as we continue to work through player feedback and data.

That's cool to see since work has been overbearing, fast mag attachments take forever to get on some guns, and pistols/some guns are miserable to level up. Glad to see they're attempting to care this time around.

Did the game bug out or is it just me? I have access to the phantom edition items despite not owning the 30$ DLC Slop. Might be because I was level 25 already and this is their way of paying those players back.

I was just talking about this with some friends last night and that the first 20 levels should be easier. Let the latter mastery levels be the flex for that weapon. There's so many weapon camos and critical attachments locked behind those initial levels for most guns. Going by my stats, it takes around 400 kills to hit mastery rank 20, which doesn't sound like a lot until you remember you would have every attachment for a gun in 4 by that time and that the average player doesn't get that many kills in a match. Definitely a good change.

Glad they're looking into the challenges, too. They're just not fun right now.

Wait a minute, is this a change to make the game less grindy like the community has been wanting? Devs can't listen to their community, that's illegal.

In general I think unlock curves for these types of games should be sigmoidal. Unlocking a chunk quickly at the beginning to play with, with the rest requiring you to go out of your way to get as a longer term goal.
