Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

So if you folks haven't heard you can now get your hands on not 1...Not 2 not even a lance but a whole company of Urban Mechs!

If I wasn't holding up my boycott on Catalyst, I'd be tempted to get two

Probably not a whole lot with a pitch like "I want to try combining my cunning with the prowess of Victor". Its not really how you're supposed to do things but one can hardly say such an experiment didn't bear fruit given that so far Alaric has indeed displayed his mother's cunning and his father's ass-kicking prowess. He's also inherited her post-victory dumbassery followed by Victor's absurd belief that things will just work out politically after making dumb choices. The fallout of this is going to be hilarious to watch, assuming the writers actually go places with him instead of handing out idiot balls left and right.
The thing is though that Alaric was beaten during the IlClan trial. Tara Campbell had him down and he was basically dead but he convinced her to work for him (using the threat of the Falcons HE invited). Heck Alaric never faced the full might of the Republic as most of the RAF concentrated on keeping the Mongols at bay. I am still waiting on how Tucker will keep throwing sticks in Alaric's way: for a braindamaged nerd he sure knows how to dissapear into thin air and make people be scared of him. Sounds like a Kiwi Farmer.

Had a pretty bawler game of Alpha Strike yesterday. 600 points Mercs vs Mercs during Civil War Era.

Had a rough early game. Lost about 5 mechs by turn 4 but by turn 6 I had started turning things around. Had my lance of CVs with 2 Heavy LRM Carriers and 2 Rommels proceed to pound the crap out of a Turkina. Combined with an awesome jumping abilities of my Wolverine-7K i was able to take it out. My list for yesterday.

Now that I finally have a summoner courtesy of the double free mechs in MWO, what are some good ways to go with it that aren’t painfully boring?

Why the fucking Vulcan? Could've made the Firestarter have a burning pumpkin head for Halloween, but the Vulcan?
Lorewise? The Vulcan looks like a walking scarecrow. Can't get any more spooky though I suspect an Atlas or Akuma would have been more spooky

Bout damn time. I like the site because it makes it easy to use faction appropriate mechs when it comes to campaigns.
Can always bullshit your way to using mechs from other factions within reason. If I ever get around to making a Dragon with my printer, I'm just gonna say the Lyrans salvaged enough with their constant slap fights with the Draconis Combine to make a few. Or that they have a Mauler as a remnant from the Somerset Strikers. Still need to think of a mech for the Taurians to swipe, although the Brigand seems to be the easiest one to excuse for with the Tortuga Dominion being relatively close to them.

Pretty much this. Once a design goes into open use, with very few exceptions you can excuse it being in almost any formation within 10 years of first deployment.

RAT tables are still good for giving you quick random units to play with, though. So I'd approve of them being on the MUL. Didn't the guy who started out writing those tables actually get hired to help run the MUL?

Friends, Spheroids, countrymen... where were you when the Kiwifarms came back online?
