Never heard of Power Dolls either, but checking the TVtropes page it's the same team. Is this just a tactics spinoff of Powerdolls, or did they lose the IP and rename it? Or just decide that Power Dolls isn't an acceptable name for modern audiences?
I honestly don't know how to find out if they've retained the rights. I'm just going to assume they wanted to make a game that looked like it was being played across a tabletop and used their old IP as the base.
