I'm not sure I buy the Clans calling an inner sphere government "fascist" but whatever we're in a post Buffy the Vampire Slayer world and every writer in the industry has brainrot. If that's the most offensive thing then whatever.

Its weird that of all nations they call the Draconis fascist, of all the IS I'd say they were the closest to the Clans with the whole bushido stuff.

Just more fuel to the Clans' rep as retarded larpers that happen to have pulse lasers. Partial joking aside, I thought it was just some kitsch irony. I'd imagine a lot of writers (especially those that right for a Canadian video games developer) would have a hard time writing a group as backwards and fundamentally inhuman as the Clans without at least a little levity to soften it up. Like a pressure release valve to make sure nobody is in danger of giving too much of a shit. Or it's a retarded one off line that means nothing in the grand scheme. Battletech in current year makes me see shit that may or may not be there.

For now, I just chalk it up to a single line in a Crusader propaganda speech, since you know, the whole point of the invasion is to "rescue" the IS.

Also, in my opinion, I think the Clans, out of all the factions of Battletech, are the ones closer to the modern definition of fascism than any other faction, strong militarism, complete devotion to the state, racial superiority (in this case literal due to Clan eugenics) but with strong elements of a warrior culture.

The DC is just Imperial Japan with lasers, spaceships and giant battlemechs.
 
They’re trying to end miniature agnosticism and try to scrub 3D printing off of the web. I hope this has a Streisand effect, but it probably won’t.

This has been part of their agenda since they updated the community guidelines back in March(?), they were deleting posts off the reddit of 3D printed mechs too if I remember correctly.

One could argue that the Capellans are also very close. you have to earn your citizenship by working for the state, you have a caste system and the goverment is everything. Though just like the Combine that just might be Imperial China with lasers (or rather stealth armor)

I wonder what their cashflow must be if they're willing to take an axe to one of the biggest selling points of the game in order to try to prop up their own mini store.

Next to non-existant probably, 3D printers and IWM already serve the demand for Battletech models the only reason I've seen people buy CGL's stuff is for the box sets with all the stuff you need to play. They have no way of edging their way into the market other than getting the competition to stop.
