Another mercenaries DLC? I guess they're either breaking the Clans -> Mercs pattern, or have ended Clans entirely. [I guess Tukkayiid is a good ending point for Clans, but it would've been cool if they topped it off with a new Refusal War campaign with the Jade Falcons.]
I imagine in Mercs you'll be part of BULLDOG and then there'll be a Clans DLC where you're fighting against Task Force Serpent. So far they've been following along the timeline but I don't see why they couldn't go back and add in DLC for earlier events.

Apparently the Clan game/DLC aren't selling as well as the IS products, so they seem to be focusing on Mercs, hence why we're having two Merc DLC in a row instead of Mercs and Clan DLC alternating.

And while they could go back in time and introduce more stuff, I imagine that Operation Bulldog, the Fedcom Civil War and the (pre) Jihad are far more likely to make them money.

They have two DLCs worth of mechs from MWO that still haven't been ported over to MW5 they can use.

If they do keep releasing even more DLCs, I would imagine they're going to stop with the Fedcom Civil War or right before the Jihad (or right after it), and then circle back to explore more content from past events. Personally, I much prefer the early 3000s IS, where good tech was scarce and everyone was fighting with shitboxes.
