Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Battletech Extended 3025 is pretty solid and has some additional things for you to use and its not hardware heavy as RogueTech and BTA3062.
I really liked BTA for the longest time but it fell into the same pitfall as RT by having way too much bloat and never introduced optional modules like RT had so you can choose what kind of content is present.

I tried making the Bullshark in MegaMekLab and just couldn't make it work based on the description on Sarna.net. About the closest I could get it would be to move two of the ERML from the RT to the LT, but when I add in all the ammo and weapons and give it a 2/3/0 speed profile, it ends up with paper thin armor.

Pull out the Thumper (which makes almost no sense considering the fact that the Clans ignore artillery on the best of days) and it could be turned into something beastly (dual UAC5 and LB10X backed up with quad ERML is nothing to sneeze at), but even with the armor it has now (which does fit in with the Clans "go for the quick kill and win" mentality), it just ends up like a Rfileman on steroids.

The curse of apocryphal mechs that only work in a video game. It looks like a really ugly kit bash too.

Should this Mech ever gain entry into Battletech it will most likely get the "Illegal" trait like the Matar as it can't be possible to have existed except in prototype form. Strange though that they couldn't come up with a say lore friendly version given the fact that the Helepolis exists. and this Mech carries an artillery piece which weighs 5 tons more then the Thumper gun

Don't forget Schwerer Gustav.
"I'll put down six cases of ale that I can make a functioning BattleMech out of this pile of scrap that used to be an Annihilator even the Dragoons couldn't afford to fix up and nobody felt like buying."
"You're on."

Two months later, both the Dragoons and Kell Hounds wound up eating some crow, one of the few times that has ever happened. Six cases of ale won't last long, but the bragging rights will be eternal.

The logic behind the Bullshark is obvious, the design philosophy is "we need to shove as much of the new content onto a mech as possible". Though there is a regular variant that appears in the game after the flashpoint that doesn't have the thumper.

I have made an UrbanLord full of stupid. It is very fun

I notice now that I put a missile fire control on this which is kind of dumb. I may have been drunk when I put this together.

Important Safety Note:

When transporting Elementals (or using them as body armor depending on who is asking) on a Dasher, the extra 11 points coverage doesn't matter when the Dasher gets headcapped and the Elementals are left unsupported in open terrain and facing a Harasser hovertank loaded with Infernos for it's dual SRM6 launchers.

Thank you for coming to my TED Talk.

Any opinions on Mechwarrior 5 Career Mode?
Depends on how much enjoyment you can get out of a repetitive gameplay loop and whether you like PGI's brand of Mechwarrior. Personally I quite like it and every few months come back and do a career mode run until I'm at the endgame and stop, though the vanilla experience is quite lacking in depth so definitely look into picking up some mods like TTRules and YAML.

BattleTech truly is a game that will bring anyone to religion eventually. Because sometimes the only explanation for a set of rolls is Yahweh/Allah/Shiva/RNGesus reaching down from the heavens and flipping you the bird.

Pregame: "I've got a perfect force, a perfect plan, and I'm going to sweep the other side."
Turn 2: "Things aren't going as well I had hoped."
Turn 4: "Why God, why?"

Quick question. I need to make some border maps for this sourcebook project I'm working on. I mean, borders between IS states change. Does anyone know of any software a technologically illiterate guy like me can use to make that? I see campaign maps by date in MegaMekHQ, but is there a way to change who owns which world in that or something? I've also heard of something Sarna Unified Cartographic Kit (or SUCK) but can't make heads or tails of it.

Basically I need to make a new map of the Inner Sphere for my project and don't know the easiest way to make one that I can export to Word (which is what I'm writing on to start) or PDF (and I'll attach to the final product before I put it online somewhere).

I've been looking into a bit and it seems like Adobe Illustrator might be what I need to use. Do any of you have any experience with it?

You will never be a real Star League. You have no First Lord, you have no Great Houses, you have no SLDF. You are a Slavic creation twisted by brainwashing and eugenics into a crude mockery of nature’s perfection. All the “validation” you get is two-faced and half-hearted. Behind your back people mock you. Your Grandfather is disgusted and ashamed of you, your “friends” laugh at your ghoulish appearance behind closed doors. Spheroids are utterly repulsed by you. Hundreds of years of warfare have allowed Spheroids to sniff out frauds with incredible efficiency. Even Clanners who “pass” look uncanny and unnatural to a Spheroid. Your bone structure is a dead giveaway. And even if you manage to get a conquered Spheroid home with you, he’ll turn tail and bolt the second he gets a whiff of your diseased, infected society. You will never be happy. You wrench out a fake smile every single morning and tell yourself it’s going to be ok, but deep inside you feel the depression creeping up like a weed, ready to crush you under the unbearable weight. Eventually it’ll be too much to bear - you’ll buy a rope, tie a noose, put it around your neck, and plunge into the cold abyss. Your Grandfather will find you, heartbroken but relieved that he no longer has to live with the unbearable shame and disappointment. He’ll bury you with a headstone marked with your Successor State, and every passerby for the rest of eternity will know a Clanner is buried there. Your body will decay and go back to the dust, and all that will remain of your legacy is a skeleton that is unmistakably Clan. This is your fate. This is what you chose. There is no turning back.

Nice.

I'm planning on introducing a friend to Battletech and playing a simple lance vs lance match to show him how to runs, any suggestions on what mechs to use? In the past showing friends always gone with a mirror match of using MAD-3R, HBK-4G, JR7-D and LCT-1V.
