Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

The prostrating to troons thing doesn’t surprise me since so many companies capitulate to them. What really annoys me is their pulling things away from miniature agnosticism. This isn’t new because they’ve gotten on to people at demos using reaper’s CAV miniatures as close proxies to IWM Battletech miniatures that are exclusive to their online store.

A KiwiFarms TotemMech?

No, I'm not adding the extra E. Scaling might be a little off, but the outside edges of the hex are pretty much totally free for adjustment. Happy printing.

Imagine trying to pull off some kind of smug shitlicking only for them to respond like this.

That's fucking hilarious. Moreso when you remember that
  • Paradox Studios/HBS are the ones who made the Bull Shark for the Battletech video game, not CGL
  • CGL has not made a mini or rules for the Bull Shark nor introduced it in writing
  • They don't own the IP. The tabletop stuff is fucking licensed to them by Topps

People are freaking the fuck out over this, and rightfully so. First off, rule #1 is what everyone's talking about because CGL's gone full-tilt to the left. Truth be told though, that's not my main issue. See point #3 right there? When pressed about how sorta' vague that is this is how CGL responded.

And then when asked again,

They're doing a proper GW any% speedrun. Battletech has always been based around proxies -- with so many mechs and designs you're never, EVER going to have all of them, or even a fraction of them, at hand. Take my precious Vulcan for example. The last time a Vulcan was made was 2014, and I can buy a (now 3rd party and maybe even illegal) Metal Vulcan or wait until this summer when they release it as part of their price-hike packs. 3D printing was one of the main reasons I entered this hobby and now it's being stripped away right as I get into the pace of things. And of course we just have to sit, wait, and hope all the tourists get appeased and fuck off to ruin another game (they won't). Fuck you Catalyst, hope your dilators get stuck in an awkward position.

Thats why all they did against the furry was go "delete this post pwetty pwease uwu," because they knew they legally could not file a copyright claim against the tweet. In fact, none of their rules that don't overlap with Twitter TOS can be enforced on their official account outside of just blocking users, which doesn't actually get rid of the offending tweets anyway.

I've never been into tabletop games. Just never something that I saw appealing. But I've always loved the mechs, and the minis by extension. And when I got a 3d printer a few months back, the first thing I printed off was a battlemaster.

Now I want to get a resin printer, and hang around game stores while wearing a oversized trench coat. Attempting to pawn off my custom built mechs.

"Hey kid wanna buy some lostech"?

Imagine asking a tranny's permission to play "dice & robots" lmao who do they think they are, an omnipotent phone company?

I'm gonna print 15 more 'mechs today just because they say I'm not allowed to. I don't even want 'em.
Fuck it, I'm printing another dozen Commandos today. I'm not even Lyran, this is a spite print

Why do all game companies have to be pants on head? I mean least they aren't GW nigger level..... Yet.

As rare as I play did anyone see new mechs for mwo? 10 laser fist Victor !! And some small engine gladiator with 4 ppc and twin lbx5. Crazy shit.

They're big mad that the PGI mechs look better than their mechs. Also prepainted mechs are gay unless they're Summerset Strikers.
Whenever I hear prepainted my mind goes to wizkids and their godawful prepainted D&D minis where it looks like someone slathered on the paint and called it a day.

They have to appeal to that crowd because they’re the biggest consoomers until they’re not.

Because troons and all the other groups adjacent to them believe that silence is compliance, if you're not out there proclaiming your love for troons or whatever dumb shit then you're a clearly part of the right wing death squads.

you could try lancer, might work for you.

but in general I took the /awg/ pill, fuck companies trying to peddle their own plastic to the detriment of everything else.
although I can't really think of a "real" bt alternative off the top of my head... maybe CGL keep smearing shit over itself will kickstart that like it happend in the GW space...

I mentioned it earlier because of the miniatures being used as proxies, but reaper had a hex based miniature game called CAV, but I don’t know how much there is to it other than being a game made by them and talon games. Really, outside of that I can’t think of anything else that could fill in that sort of niche. There’ve been a plethora of miniature games in the past that r come and gone that just weren’t good for one reason or another, none of them would be worth buying into.
I’m dismayed by the way CGL has acted as of late. The people they’re trying to appeal to will eventually stop being profitable as they’ll always gravitate towards means of getting things without having to pay for them.

Do you need a BT alternative? You can still play Battletech and completely avoid giving CGL a dime, pdfs of the rulebooks are readily available online and you can get 3D printed models off Etsy or metal ones from IWM.

Heavy Gear is pretty dope.
I forget about heavy gear, but man it’s a good game

lmao, valk mocks someone for what he thinks is terrible painting ignoring that he does a terrible job painting himself as a woman. once again these are who CGL wants to prioritize in their community.
