Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Has anyone got any games recently?
Me personally I've been going through a drought of not playing Classic battletech and the itch has been getting pretty bad.

If dear feeder can make it so can anyone else. They just need to try.
I respect the shit out of anyone who does it, but I also don't bemoan anyone not willing to risk their career just to be able to talk about stompy robots online without troons latching on to them.

Two weeks ago. My group mostly moved on to Alpha Strike because one of the guys found a huge pile of scenario books (you know, the ones from the 80s) and we can do 5 to 6 missions in a single afternoon with two matches going on at a time. Some of the scenario rules need adjustment to fit AS but it's been a blast so far. The scenarios from the Cranston Snord's Irregulars book were a lot of fun, and we should be getting started on Rhonda's Irregulars tomorrow.

We play almost every weekend, though mostly Alpha Strike. We're organizing to play A Time of War, the crunchiest RPG that ever crunched for the universe. Once in a while, someone might remember to bring the hex maps, but with the LGSs around here having terrain tables, folks mostly opt for the faster AS rules.

Is there any way to avoid that happening if you're creating content for nerds these days? Unless you're blatantly right-wing no-life troons will swarm over anyone who's catering to even remotely autistic audiences.
Having a community that encourages a healthy amount of trash talking usually keeps the more obnoxious troons away, it doesn't get rid of them all but the ones scared by it are usually the ones that do the most damage.

Had my first few games of classic battletech on Saturday. it's really fun, I'm lucky that I have an active community for it near me.

Aside last Thursday when a few members were away I play once a week.

I tend to make up a lot of the situations because I enjoy it and am pretty fair plus understands what we like.

I'll paraphrase but Cappies are raiding a TC mech factory. Seems easy enough but, opfor is aware of the raid because the spy is a double agent. Thankfully the Cappies have reserves since planned to stop a retaking but, will the first landing force be enough? Will the Garrison forces make it in time to help?

Eh simple for a few hours game night. Should be fun.

We haven't gotten a game together since before Christmas I think. Real life just got in the way enough that it's almost like it's conspiring against us.

So Catalyst fucked up again with the Distributer and it seems people are being charged too much for shipping and handeling for the Mercs Kickstarter 1711764527046.jpeg

But at least they respect troons. Look forward to the Mage Leader video on this, he's had a very easy couple weeks with CGL's constant fuck ups.
Edit: Checked /tg/ if this is a one off thing, the emails may be formatted better, but more than a few are reporting one hundred dollar shipping charges.
My god, even GW isn't that retarded or greedy.

Fucking niggers. Time to check my debit card statement.

Also, since it came up before with gross tranny thing and the whole CGL can structure rules on anything. As @RA-5C Vigilante mentioned /tg/ (4chan board) BTG is one of my always running tabs. It's far from perfect and I know there's a decent overlap of users here who do use 4chan a bit or know of it. Eh, it's another place to talk BT since I'm not here a ton, and this isn't the most active (no offense) I also really enjoy and sometimes post bat reps.. would anyone be down with that here?

MWO needs to patch all the new toys suffer from OP af but, it's all "free" c-bills so instead of just pandering to whales everyone is running insane BS meta stuff and just not fun... during an event.

I think my per-mech cost is 35 cents after painting, and even if you add in the cost of my printer (which I use for many other things) it's cheaper than CGL shipping.

My greatest mecha-expense this week was knocking over a bottle of paint, that was almost worth 2 mechs right there all at once!

So how much you charging to ship some to frens? Also... pre painted?

It's sad that I find myself cheering on the fuckups of people who own games I like. Battletech and it's universe is really cool and has a lot of lore made by people who were passionate about their hobby decades ago. Dungeons and Dragons is the biggest example of this but there are so many other niche things that someone used to sit down and enjoy however they wanted without some big corpo faggot fucking it up.

What's really sad is that this is another thing that means something to people. When I was a kid my Dad took me to an entertainment place where they had battletech pods. They were things you sat in that were worked up to look like the inside of a cockpit with a multiplayer videogame on a screen in front of you. You were pretty much playing a mechwarrior game but it was an experience and I was a kid so it was one of the coolest things ever when I was young. It was also something my Dad thought was cool when he wasn't even into this sort of thing.

So later on when I got into table top Battletech was something I was really interested in. Had a lot of fun with it. Liked the video games and everything. So to see these fucking assholes shit all over it is pretty messed up but not unexpected.

Catalyst Game Labs fucked up Shadowrun too so I'm not surprised in the slightest anyway.

$250, no lowballs I know what I have.
But how do I get to be a cool kid with the new approved meta of Savanna master spam with out selling a kidney....

Jokes aside, cool on 3d printing! There's some spares I'd like and it's annoying you can't get some things also a lot of more "basic" intro tech don't have diff sculps for later things like say a Marauder.

I knew Battletech was on the decline the moment I saw the they/them option in that Paradox game that came out a while ago, but I didn't know it was this bad with all the reddit and kickstarter shenanigans.
Jesus, I'm glad I was only an incidental Mechwarrior/Megamek fan. Won't get any more shekels from me!
