Emphasis mine. You know, the Catapult can be pretty horrifying in close combat with that 4x ML array it has. Maybe the Archer can too, god knows the books make it a close combat machine, but I don't run it in my normal lances so I can't say one way or the other.
There's a few Archer variants that add SRM's. Biggest ones are the -2S that drop the LRM's down to 15's to fit an SRM-4 in each side torso, and the -5S is an Invasion-era upgrade that uses an XL to fit an SSRM-2 in each arm and a NARC in the left torso, and upgrades the ML to MPL. The -6S only has two ML and 2 SSRM-2 and no NARC but uses a light engine instead of an XL and the LRM's are upgraded back to LRM-20's with Artemis IV. And the -8M Wobbie version has an ERLL in the CT and 3 ERML, one in each arm plus the head, and the -9K has a quartet of MML-5's and a trio of light PPC's with a C3 Slave.

Finally to round out the official versions there's the C 2 the Dragoons made using Clan tech, with a pair of CSSRM-4's and a pair of CMPL.

And for unofficial ones we have Agincourt, which is a close combat monster with 2 SRM-6 and 2 SSRM-2, 2ML and 2 MPL, but long range firepower is only a pair of LRM-10. You don't need or want bigger than that though since MW5 increases LRM spread the larger the launcher gets for some bullshit reason.

Oh, and the Battlefists quirk gives a hit bonus with punch attacks, but you should be kicking them in the shins anyways on account of the arm-mounted SRM's and ML's.

What the fuck? Streaks don't need NARCs and they have way too short a range to be useful on a LRMboat. That sounds retarded. NARCs are for the spotter who's out in front, or for a SRMboat that needs to get that close to its target anyhow.

I mean Narc LRMs are a thing.

Having an Archer act as a spotter for a heavy fire support lance isn't the worst idea, especially since the -5S was intended to be the standard model for both halves of the Federated Commonwealth.

My favorite was him fucking around on the test server and realizing that someone fat fingered the missile cooldown rate on one of the quickdraws by a factor of 100. Hilarity ensued.
Aw man that takes me back

Tex is gonna do a video about the Black Knight

I noticed that. Also in between the silence MWO is getting both the Naga and the Naga II with ArrowIV support so expect artillery spams for a bit.

The MW5: C Comstar robe sigils have a few too many in-jokes for my taste.

Anyone playing the new DLC for MW Clans?

I played the first few missions of it, its very much more of the same as with the rest of MW5 Clans so take that as you will. The VA for Natasha is pretty mediocre though and sometimes sounds very stilted which is a bit jarring coming from such a significant character as well as the rest of the cast not being like that.

I am hyped for it, already told Mrs to expect me to take the couch over.

Any word how arrowIV will be for mwo?

well it's a new mwo weapon so it will appear balanced in the hands of inept pubbies/pgi staff, turn out to be obscenely effective in the hands of organised players, and resultingly nerfed into a pea shooter within two weeks once said pubbies have complained sufficiently on the forums

Played the first missions and I also find the Va for Natasha not fitting. She sounds way too young though the way she talks probably fits her as she was a very no nonsense character with an attitude. I also find the opening scene very liberal in comparism to the lore. Focht didn't send his batchall to the Clan conclave he directly dealed with Ulric who then presented the proposed trial to his fellow Clans

Natasha was like 80 during the Clan invasion, she damn well shouldn't sound young. Given that the clanners thought you were over the hill by thirty, they should've been trying to put her in a museum through the whole thing.
