There's really no other game in town. Nobody else even tries to do the pseudo-sim first person thing. Hawken exists theoretically with Reborn, I guess. As much as I like Titanfall 2 it was never really concerned with the mechanical fantasy of the mechs. They exist as a sexy power up you get to customize as far as the multiplayer is concerned and you can only play the campaign so many times. Mercs can be played basically forever if the combat is to your taste. Career mode and co-op practically guarantee a playerbase until someone makes something better. Which it seems like Piranha themselves are incapable of doing.

In theory MW6:Mercs is coming someday, but with them going back to MW5M, well, I just don't get it. MW5C is basically meant to be a completely other style of game, a bunch of contained narratives vs Mercs which was more simmy. Maybe they admitted there's still enough people who want Career Mode instead of Clan storytime, or they decided they can't bring career mode type stuff to MW5C, who knows? Either way, MW6 is probably 7-10 years out at this point.

What I do wish is we'd get a Battletech2 or MechCommander3. Both I feel would sell pretty well. But I don't know the state of the IP anymore. I think Piranha has it on lock? But Paradox has the rights to Battletech (PC 2018)? So does that mean a Battletech 2 would have to be Paradox?

... Huh. Maybe a Grand Strategy Battletech game? Would that even work?

Like I said before, it appears they're trying to have their cake and eat it too by making content for both Mercs and Clans at the same time. They've been consistently alternating DLCs between the two games ever since Ghost Bear, and unless they throw out a surprise announcement it looks like they're going to continue down this path.
 
Id be honestly be happy with a full rebuild of the HBS one that didnt run like liquid ass, but maybe its just a skill issue on my end, but i swear i once made it hard bluescreen my PC consistently (granted, like 3 or 4 months later i replaced the MOBO because that turned out to be an issue)

Two new story quests, one dealing with a raid in in the periphery north of Clan held territory and the other dealing with Operation GUERRERO.

Brand New Mech the Sunder will now be available.

Besides the Sunder we are getting 9 new Chasis from other expansions into the game.
For Battlemechs we are getting the Vixen, Kodiak, Bushwhacker, Shadow Hawk IIC and Jenner IIC. Then for Omnimechs we are getting the Cauldron-Born, Night Gyr, Naga and Linebacker.

New variants will be available as well for existing mechs. We are getting Clanbuster variants, Artillery Variants as well as Clan Refits of Inner Sphere Mechs.

Also to go along with these features new weapons are going to be dropped as well.

Arrow IV, MRMs, X-Pulse Lasers, Light AC 2 and 5s, Clan Heavy Lasers and Clan Light Machine guns.

They are also updating the Vehicle roster and IS Standard Battlearmor to either fight with or against.

On one hand, just fucking kill this game. It's barely doing better than the now 13 year old MWO and probably makes less money in-between each DLC release than MWO given how that game's still kicking.
On the other hand, given how the one other time they made a "new" Mechwarrior game it didn't even reach Merc's peak player count, I'd probably just milk whatever I can successfully milk too just to keep the lights on since I doubt they can afford to even make another game.
Cannot wait until Piranha's contract is up or whatever is keeping them as the MW guys, I have no doubt that any new MW games will be meh at best no matter who makes them but at least give someone else a chance. Wish Harebrained made another BT game, at least that was good.

If you make it similar to HOI (Land, Air, Sea but more fleshed out, aka 20 dlcs later) while also having a galactic map like Stellaris. Maybe scale it down so it isn't a massive slog. Sadly I don't see this nor anything from Paradox at the moment, if they do make a GS game it would probably be similar to that failed Star Trek game (an older version Stellaris with a BT skin for $20 that gets abandoned immediately).

The Raptor II isn't even a Dark Age mech though. It was introduced as a Blakist Mech in the Jihad and the Republic took it over. What I kinda don't like is the complete eradicastion of the Phoenix Mechs. We had a full TRO on Project Phoneix, TRO 3085 had also an entire section on Phoneix Mechs and then suddenly - poof - they are gone, replaced by new variations. Even the look they went for with the Phoenix Mechs is gone, back to another art style

Stackpole's Warrior Trilogy covers the lead up to the 4th Succession War, including the Davion-Steiner marriage. Melissa is pretty mature as written in those books.

Don't know where Rusty is getting his info, but maybe he's just feeling confident after the tongue bath he got from Sean at Sarna.

Yes, Hanse Davion Crown Prince of Federated Suns married Melissa Steiner. The whole event kicked off what would be known as the 4th Succession War. During the wedding they put out dinner plates of the Capellan Confederation and Hanse said this: ""My dear... I give you the Capellan Confederation."

As you should. Seriously, don't. I see that you're new to BT, semi-related but definitely check out Black Pants Legion even if his videos aren't usually for new fans as they can certainly be enjoyed by them. As for why you don't go past Clans (hell I'd argue don't touch Clans at all if you're new), it has some of the worst BT has the offer after that point and it's not worth it. God help you if you see anything Dark Ages related.
