Battletech - Also known as Trannytech

Why did the main game box go out of print and go way up in price? Is there any word on another printing?
Afaik, there's trouble with shipping from china, so a lot of the new boxes, including the AGOAC box, is being delayed. CGL apparently had huge problems shipping out preorders for clan invasion kickstarter backers and Lance packs, so they have a massive backlog of orders that they need to fulfill before they can even think about working on the old boxed sets.

CGL has had a lot of issues in general with management and getting shit to ship on time.

They order from the cheapest company, so it's going to be chinese, which means it's already pretty fucky to deal with them and their idas of a schedule even without the Coof. Apparently, the Ever Given debacle had an influence on their shipping and afaik, a container with their stuff got lost in some harbor too?

Long story short, waiting times for a shitton of their stuff are long and the moment AGOAC reappears, I am going to buy me one. Come January 2024 I guess.

I would love the Battletech game even more if I wasn't facing 2 to even 3 lances of Mechs when I can only have 4.
Yeah, that is the biggest issue with the base game outside of the dice rolls. In the mods that expand the gameplay, as soon as you get the extra Leopard to increase your mech drop capacity, it greatly benefits your experience.

That was everyones complaint. HBS are known for their terrible coding skills though and Battletech alone already makes Unity shit the bed. The mods that improve the game make it load that much slower.

But yeah, it's a shitty artificial difficulty spike. You also get locked into taking only Assaults.

We couldn't even get the Minnesota Tribe to return as the ones helping out the Sphere, but no, that the was Jaggies who are fucking back from the dead, thank you ilClan.
Well from the IE source book it seems as if the Minnesota tribe is something that lurks and lurks and lurks waaaaayyy back somewhere. Who knows when we hit 3250 the Minnesota tribe will ride to the rescue when the remaining Homeworld Clans come knocking down the IlClan. I am still unsure what the IlClan era actually brings since it seems as if the Wolves don't have much left to hold onto Terra.

The whole 'one lance vs 2-3 lances' was an issue in Mechwarrior 3 and 4, too, though it was somewhat mitigated with field-repair units. Not so much in Mechcommander 2 where you could field an entire company (and get repair units as well as artillery/airstrike support).

I don't recall having the same issues with HBS's Shadowrun games that I do with BT, performance wise. It might be due to them using PGI's models crammed into that Unity framework.

It's ALL on HBS here, Unity can be optimized surprisingly well

Shadowrun was notoriously broken on launch. HBS blamed trying to implement mod tools in it.

You can rate me optimistic here, but it would be cool if the Minnesota Tribe reappears and helps the Periphery States. Doubt they would offer much in terms of tech, but if they can find a way to bolster their armies through training, their economic outputs like they did in the Kerensky Cluster or hell, some means to bolster their espionage, that would be neat. Might paint a target on the Periphery if the Clans clue in though.

I think lore-wise the Minnesota tribe is dead. If the Jihad documents book is any proof then the tribe was taken over by some madman and transformed into the original Comstar. Question is if the remaining Blakists (there were some Warships and several divisons unaccounted for) are somewhere rebuilding. Who knows maybe there are more then just the remaining 3 Hidden worlds left. Or this plotline will be dropped like several others. I had hoped that the Republic would make a comeback but unfortuately that is not the case.

Jihad Documents of that were forgeries, it’s a canon lie.

The Minnesota tribe might still be out there, and recently released fiction indicates they’re active in the periphery.

There is no point in taking anything light. If you don't go full assault and bring as much tonnage as you can your legit fucked.

Tabletop related they are sending in both the Clan Command and Clan Heavy Striker mini packs. I should have them Wednesday ish.

Hey, if I can't get my 2nd Star League, you won't get your second Republic.

I figured, since the Minnesota Tribe was active in 2825 and Nueva Castile was attacked by a mysterious outside force jumping in with one single JumpShip in 2830, there might be a connection. It might be an offshoot of the Minnesota Tribe that got seperated/split off of the rest of the Tribe.

Not to burst your bubble but the Umayads are not the Minnesota tribe or part of the Minnesota tribe at least if you can believe the mentions in the FM 3067

Minnesota Tribe was last seen exiting IS space heading out from the DC through or near the Outworlds Alliance.

No bubble to be burst tbh. Checking up on it, there's a couple of theories floating around both in-universe and irl where the Minnesota Tribe went.

As long as they aren't off to the side battling some sort of alien race, I'm fine with it being ambiguous. I like my headcanon of an MT offshoot trying to take over some minor Periphery power and ending up in a 230ish year long war for power.

230 years is a hell of a long time. I know it's anticlimactic, but I'd rather they either misjumped/got lost and faded away, or settled somewhere where they're not going to be found. They're basically part of the setting's mythos at this point. I didn't trust FASA to write their "return" in a competent way, and I don't trust CGL to do it either. Let that particular sleeping dog lie.

The 331st works best as the ghost that haunts Nicky's Furry Brigade forever really
