lol bayo2 was actually meant to look more masculine comparing to curvy bayo1 and that was a design choice because she never stays the same. The new look is something out of gothic lolita fashion, so it's supposed to be cute instead of sexually aggressive, which is interesting because bayo is a dominatrix/femme fatale type, so this was obviously deliberate.
Or this is a different timeline or a reboot, I dunno... VA change is probably union bullshit, so that sucks

If they were smart, they could work the actress change into the story itself, the same way P5 did with one of its characters.
Because of the slight difference, a lot of people are speculating it's either an alternate Bayonetta or a younger one (IE, prequel) or whatever else.
I personally don't care. Bayonetta is hardly known for its long-ass nonsense storytelling. I just think it's one of the best fighting games ever. So long as it continues that, I'm happy.

Over the last few weeks I've had the feeling that they might do a Raiden thing with Bayo3, or maybe more of a DMC4 thing. I think the VAs comment on having a Bayonetta without her voice can be read in two ways and those comments dropped around the same time Kamiya started doing interviews where he specifically didn't say much about Bayonetta 3, if it was still in development, how it was going or when they were going to show it.
Overall strange timing but a good way to get people talking about the game.

It was on the Nvidia leak, and if it's coming to pc rather wait and play with a lock frame rate and better image quality when it does hit PC.

Bayonetta 3 will no doubt be better than the second one. The fact that it finally is on the Nintendo Switch now will make it even better, as far as handheld mechanics go.
Hopefully he does not fold and ends up blocking multiple amounts of people on Twitter after this. Otherwise, the modders will have to do their job

Nintendo wanted Platinum to make the extra costumes sexier in the Wii U version of the first game. They also did some promotion with Playboy. This was Iwata era, though. Might be different now.

I'd say the character writing in Bayo is not where the problem lies. Everyone is cool, theyre a great cast, very memorable. The interpersonnal stuff between Bayo and Jeanne in 1 and her and her dad in 2 is pretty gud. Problem is the plot tho, that shit is retarded. Time loop stuff they added in 2 didnt help it.
Also Loki sucks, shit eating annoying kid can get fucked

Still funny to me to think of Nintendo collaborating with Playboy, but they stopped at actually showing the cosplay model nude, just implied.
It reminds me of Nintendo dipping into M rated survival horror with blood and gore with Eternal Darkness* or Conker's Bad Fur Day, every so often they flirt with more adult content but it's usually short lived.
*It's still crazy to think there's a gory Lovecraftian horror Nintendo game even close to 20 years later, bing bing wahoo indeed.

I get the feeling that they're not as strict if it is not done in-house. They won't make Luigi's Mansion into a Fatal Frame but they're fine with publishing a bit of Fatal Frame. Ps. I don't care about the excra slutty maid outfits or whatever it was that was changed.

Right, they've never gone quite as far as developing something M rated in house, but they are willing to publish something either M or a little more mature than the usual fare.
