Bayonetta 3 - What Moon themed song they gonna pick this time

So the OG actor pretty much just went nuclear on Twitter. Said the reason she's not back is because they didn't offer her enough money, is saying to boycott the game and also pretty much threw Hale under the bus.

She said the Bayonetta series made approximately $450 million" which immediately makes me think she's retarded and probably the one in the wrong somehow
Then again platinum have also been making retarded decisions lately

lol wut

Platinum couldn't even be arsed to fork out a decent rate on par with other actors? A big part of the appeal of this series (outside the actually FUN gameplay) is that sexy librarian look & voice which the original VA nailed. They chose to hobble their best IP to save what? Few grand?

Platinum truly do be making retard decisions, on par with tranny brain rot. Holy shit.

Taking some thought to this, and some rumors best taken with some salt, I'm on the fence with this.

This could easily be a publicity stunt on behalf of Platinum, and possibly the both of them hinting at the theory of "We're playing as Cereza from 1, ergo not the witch voiced by Taylor in the last two games". Alternatively this is Platinum being stingy, but after the colossal failure of Babylon's Fall they're probably hurting for cash, and Nintendo isn't willing to bail them out for whatever reason.

As for the rumors, word on the street is that Taylor ended up leaking Bayo-related stuff under NDA. So this could be a case of her begging her role back, and getting it at the expense of a reduced paycheck in response to the NDA violation. So she decides to get the Twitter lynch mob to brute-force her role (and original paycheck) back.

Either way, this whole thing is a mess.

EDIT: Kamiya has thrown his hat into the ring;

Archive ongoing.

To also play devil’s advocate: we don’t know what she was paid for the previous games (and this isn’t quite the same issue that it’d be with Devil May Cry in that the english VAs also did motion capture for the games), it’s probably not long enough to justify more than a week or two in a recording booth, and she has next to no voice credits to her name other than bayo for in the span of 10 years whereas Grey Delisle, Yuri Lowenthal, and Dave Fennoy are all very active and thus probably bang this kind of shit out regularly and have more bargaining power.

$4000 could be a perfectly reasonable rate depending on the time investment.

I bet this ends up being a situation where in a decade it comes out that everyone was being stupid as fuck.

Voice actors in the West are just getting fucked, from Kyle McCarley to Vic Mignogna to Quinton Flynn to Hellena Taylor.

Decentralization when?
Platinum has been making exceptionally retarded decisions this generation, so I have very little sympathy for them if this has any kind of impact on their sales.
Does anyone even care about Babylon's Fall anymore?

They allegedly offered her around $4000.
If this is true it is an insultingly low amount for the amount of work she'd have to do.

That one single player probably does. Or did.

It's worth noting that Bayo, being an action game franchise, is probably more intensive on the throat than a typical game for a voice actor. That and there's multiple versions of the character in 3 for story reasons.

Maybe? I’d still argue we need more info.

Payment is a huge problem in the industry. (She's been open about mental health issues for several years btw) So I can totally understand her reasoning behind declining. Although I do think they're all trolling because she's said before she wasn't sure if she was going to return.

That being said, strange that Hale would take it considering she was one of the headliners of the pointless VA strike with Sellout Baker,, etc so if they offered her more than Helena that's really shitty.

BTW ficore is always an option.

Cest la vie. She shot herself in the foot with this unfortunately. Here's the thing though, this time it's an entirely new Bayonetta! She is not the same as Helena's. Especially since there's multiple ones now.
And look at it this way, if they had to replace her, at least they went with Jennifer Hale! She's amazing at voices.

It absolutely sucks that Helena and Platinum couldn't come to an agreement and I believe Platinum fucks over their crew. But at the end of the day you have to pick yourself up and move on.

Remember that this is all assuming she's telling the truth as nothing but her testimony was given, she could have fucked up horribly during recording or getting this gig in general and this stunt is gonna REALLY hit her when she isn't gonna be able to make money in cons and all that now
