I'm also wondering if they're going to age up the other characters (even if they all were still the same ages in 2011, cough cough) so that Tom Anderson and his wife will presumably be dead (or very, very old), Coach Buzzcut and Mr. Van Driessen will be around the same age that Tom Anderson was in the 1990s, and Stewart and Daria will be pushing 40?

They're retconning Beavis and Butt-Head 2011 (which I thought was pretty good) out of existence?
Yeah, that's a shame as the 2011 reboot was great, but having them specifically time traveling from the 90s to today rather than they just happen to have never aged for whatever reason is a clever idea.

And it's not that continuity matters all that much with Beavis and Butthead anyway.

I could believe that there would be a throwaway joke at the end of the movie where scientists send them back to 2011 to fix a rift in the timeline where other citizens from 1998 Highland also found themselves in 2011.

Honestly did they really have to take Beavis & Butthead down the scifi multiverse route? They could've just as easily done another road trip style film like Beavis & Butthead Do Europe (there's no shortage of jokes you can do on europe these days), and its clear Paramount+ is hungry for more content so they'll want to milk B&B for more content if this does well, so trying to start off with Reddit & Morty-style multiverse bullshit just leaves little room for what they can do next without it being a step down. Also trying to move them into 2022 just so they can make iphone and internet jokes will just make the film feel dated when compared to its slightly more timeless predecessor.
