Somehow, I find the bedbound saga somewhat fascinating. In an almost gory and disgusting way, of course, but still fascinating.

She is bored almost to death because all she can do, now that even scooting around Walmart is something she can't do anymore without fearing that the scooter may broke and leave her on her two swollen pig feet (and probably the car cannot sustain the combined weight of her and Becky anymore), is finding new ways to entertain herself with ideas of a healthier, skinnier, stunningly beautiful version of herself.

And therefore she goes on fad diets, spends all her money on disgusting powders and protein bars, buys more and more Torrid dress that don't fit, and claims to be writing the Great Gatsby of this generation.

It's probably the closest thing we'll ever get to seeing what it's like, for some completely paralyzed people, to be trapped in their own mind. It's thoughts that will lead nowhere, wasted words, and dreams of a future that won't come.

My morbid curiosity is watching to see her various ailments that are obese related. She herself is awful, her situation is interesting though. The question for me is not: what will amberlynn do? It’s: what will amberlynns body do?

For science!

I'm just waiting for the "Amber is dead" video ft Necky as the new headliner. A cow take over, if you will.
Can you imagine how dead ass boring Becks would be on her own? Hell, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe she'd be more entertaining than this current snoozefest/snuff film. She is more lively around Eric and Rickie so maybe both channels would improve?????

They would improve, definitely, but not enough to actually be entertaining. The problem with Eric's channel is Eric droning on and on and on about nothing. It's hard to even hate watch him, he's so boring.

I probably was one looking forward to the bedbound saga, although I say that loosely. I don’t feel we’re missing anything content-wise. It was the same stuff before, rolling through wommart, smelling candles, “baybee, isnt this cyute?” No more interesting than today’s torrid haul or her sitting in the kitchen rambling. It is/was all boring. For her it was better, of course but for me, it’s all been dull as dishwater.

But knowing the phases her life would go in advance, then watching her hit each one without putting the breaks on, has been fascinating. So when she hit the homebound it was like a checkmatk off a to-do list. We all know what’s coming and each time she hits a phase, we are proved right. So yeah, this is housebound, but bedbound is coming. Infections, immobility, hospitalizations, death. It’s all going to happen.

Does Amber know yet? I’m guessing only in the vaguest way, each time she takes a bite, the fear is gone, the problems seem less important.

But if she was as clear as we are? Nothing would still change. And that is fascinating.

I would love to see her get a grip, face reality, and lose weight, because I don’t have it in me to wish death on people. But as crystal as I am on the phases Amber will face, I’m just as certain that she’ll never pull it together enough to save her life.

So each individual vlog is terribly boring, but the whole shows an entire life wasted.

Shit, this is the most depressing thread.

But it's all true, how many of us started as either concerned viewers or fascinated gawkers wanting to see some kind of a redemption ark or inspirational story to pull from this. Now turned into jaded, bitter haters or apathetic morbidly curious observers. Just staring with bored amusement at the 600 pound blob flails and chuckles while it's body slowly shuts down, like some kind of prolonged death rattle of a sad creature.

People like Amber have an uncanny knack for breezing through life relatively untouched from their bad decisions, let's face it she doesnt care about most of the mobility losses or looking like a butter monster, she been living relatively consequence free. But we can see it, things are a changing and suddenly those consequences are going to start catching up, and fast, and very soon things are going to go from "everythins fine yall!" as more minor emergencies happen, to a long radio silence, and then some intrepid Kiwi will dig up a local Kentucky news article about the spectacle of a 600 pound female corpse that had to be removed from a 3 person household with a crane and wrecking crew.

I hope this bitch breaks character and discusses how nasty she actually is IRL now that she is barely able to walk. Like the "struggles of being me" video but honest about hygiene issues. I would watch the shit out of that, so would everyone on the internet.

Yes.

They have no appeal of their own. Without Amber/potential sightings of Amber, why would anyone even bother to watch?

If Eric did something interesting with his blog, such as using it as a platform for talking about his anxiety, his mental issues, or his relationship with Rickie, then it might get some traction and get it out under the shadow of being associated with ALR. But its his channel and I suppose he can do what he wants with it. Better for him to make videos than collect disability.

As horrible as she is, Amber is the only one that's watchable in that house. And these days, she's barely even that. Amber being a condescending cunt while rotting away on her mattress is amazingly boring and tedious. As soon as she moves on to the great Cheesecake Factory in the sky, the views going into the Fag Shack are going to come to a hot ass halt.

Since I started watching (maybe ~2 years ago), I always thought there'd come a point where things got too morbid and I'd stop following her. And every time we reach a new low, I feel like I can't keep watching. But here we are.

I would think her no longer being able to go to Wommart might motivate her to be less fat. Online shopping just doesn't compare to picking up and handling all the journals and knick knacks. The 600lb life people still go and cry about not being able to fit through an aisle that 3 normal humans could walk down abreast and bitch about how horrible it is that the world isn't accommodating of them.

It seems like the 600lb lifers are on medicaid and disability though. Who is going to pay for AL's mega size wheelchair or fat scooter?

I wasn't really thinking we were fully in the bedbound saga until I realized that she got a bladder infection because she couldn't be bothered to go through the effort to pee more than 1-2x a day. With Becky bringing her food, I'm entirely convinced she doesn't get out of bed except her daily pee break or to vlog in the dining room.

I'd be lying if I said I won't watch every video she uploads, because I'm a creature of habit and will always be curious. But also her content is going through an amazing decline and not everyone is as indifferent as me. She'll soon be in a super weird place where she needs more interesting content but isn't physically capable of making it.

Makes sense, I thought that the basement expanded beneath some of the rooms of the house for some reason. I mean I know upper floors can hold a lot of weight, it just makes me wonder what kind of wear and tear can happen when a large amount of weight/pressure is """"moving"""" around throughout the house. Like an iceberg drifting across a continent as it were. The damage to furniture though, it makes me flinch every time I see her spilling over the edges of a chair or puddling on the couch.

The basement is big, it's likely under the main rooms of the house. But Albert's "sitting room" - actually just the place where she stores her hoard now, any idea she would be independent has totally gone out the window as she's gradually encroached into everyone else's space - is an add-on. We had a whole spergy discussion about it somewhere and consensus was its a cheapo extension made from glassing over an external porch/terrace, so the basement is unlikely to run beneath that.

I think even a traditionally-built upper storey (which I don't think it is) would deal with Albert though - floor joists are strong and we used to put a lot of weight in bedrooms with iron beds, huge heavy wardrobes etc. But she could damage the main flooring if it is a suspended floor which it likely is, tho that doesn't really count as structure.

But "her" spot on their couch - and it is their couch, not hers - will be an absolute spongy wreck. Our pelvic floors are not designed for 600lbs, not are our bladders. And people that size can't tell when they're...er....leaking. That sofa will be a portal into hell. And I don't even want to think about their swamp mattress. Even the mites that live in their bed will be fatarses.
