What is your favorite beef jerky, and or meat stick? I like the Squatch Hot snack sticks... they're good when walking home in the middle of the night.

I only eat jerky when driving very long distances, and when I do, I prefer extremely spicy jerky that discourages eating a lot of it, and large amounts of water.

I fully believe Slim Jims to be made of random bits of garbage meat that was going to be thrown out until someone had the bright idea to repackage it in stick form. They tend to always taste slightly different, have inconsistent textures, and will undoubtedly make you nauseous if you don't have some liquid to chug down the filth.

Homemade if possible barring that I don't mind Slim Jims Smokin’ Mesquite, I liked the Carne Asada and not sure if it counts but Oberto's buffalo chicken jerky is really good.

Aldi beef sticks that come like 20 in a ziplock baggie pack.

They are. They're made out of the lowest grades of meat that you're allowed to sell for human consumption. Also much of it isn't meat. There's soy and corn, and a witch's brew of chemicals of various kinds. Obviously, a shit-ton of salt. They're absolutely terrible.

I've made several batches that never lasted more than a couple of days lol

I did it with a couple slight modifications. I actually used Liquid Smoke, and I used red pepper flakes instead of cayenne. Also, instead of heating them flat on a wire rack, I stuck toothpicks through them and hung them from the top oven rack. Convection at 170 for about 6-7 hours. I put a pan on the bottom to catch any drippings, but there weren't really any worth mentioning.

Turned out great.

I had the roast cut into 1/4" slices at the butcher's. The one thing I'd do differently, other than maybe getting round instead, is not doing this on Friday when they're busy, because I felt like the jerk ordering something weird and time-consuming on a day they had a line.

I got Cracker Barrel bacon jerky. IDK what it's supposed to be, but I like it.

I like beef jerky BUT NOT IN THE GAY WAY THAT TRIGGERS ME. My favorite flavor is Teryiaki (I cant spell it). I like how its sweet rather then overly spicy.

Store bought, I go for the CVS brand sweet teriyaki pork jerky. Bit pricier than the usual pack, but it's flavorful and a nice mix of sweet and salty.

Home made, I usually go for pheasant or deer. Partly because both are abundant where I go hunting, but also because I never manage to get a consistent jerky from beef.

Got a cheap dehydrator from Aldi.

Made a batch with cube steak and just some salt on it as I'm still getting the hang of it.

Really good stuff.

Can you jerky chicken?
