My initial hypothesis is based around parental neglect whereby two biological parents, and later one biological and one step parent, were so wrapped up in their careers that they outsourced ILJ's parenting to the internet, with young ILJ stumbling onto 4chan when she was a toddler and then staying there ever since. Whether she's LARPing as le ebic 4chan oldfag or was actually raised by /b/ is something we may never know, as it may be impossible to get a definitive answer.

Since then, I've come up with another hypothesis. Whilst ILJ has enough mental issues to fill an entire chapter of the DSM, one of the most obvious issues appears to be Borderline Personality Disorder. BPD can turn its sufferers into truly awful people. Whilst I'm no psych, I've read enough to be aware that BPD is often brought on by childhood trauma and that it is more prevalent among females.

I'm not going to speculate as to what kind of trauma this may have been, and whether or not it was one trauma or multiple traumas.

I'm also not discounting my original hypothesis either. BPD sufferers can be volatile and manipulative, but I don't believe that BPD by itself would be enough to lead to alleged animal abuse, suicide baiting, prescription drug dealing, identity theft, incest fantasies, deplorable hygiene, attempted blackmail and/or egregious abuses of privacy viz. installation of covert security cameras (did I miss anything?).

In the oughts we had 80s nostalgia, and I can't really blame zoomers born into the current gay orwellian hellscape for having feels for the good old days of Web 1.0. Of course in those days we still did things IRL and only a small subset of weirdos lived their lives online, but a zoomer would never understand that.

I have seen a lot of people speculating that she is and accusing her of being a psychopath. I guess this is the appropriate thread to discuss this, but my theory is that she is not a psychopath in the clinical sense of the word. Psychopaths are devoid of feeling but that's just it - they are so devoid of feeling that a "true" psychopath wouldn't bother putting so much effort into this interconnected weave of bullshit without some tangible, material gain. The brief amusement that comes from manipulating people gets far too tiresome for most of them to bother with - there have been loads of psychopaths who have been caught in their double lives/affairs/etc because they simply can't even be bothered to wipe lipstick off their hands or something that most people would think "what the hell, that's so obvious". They have a clinically diagnosed, medically valid bankruptcy of fucks, lucky bastards.
Antisocial personality disorder as a comorbidity with some other shit would be my best guess. She definitely has some traits in common with a borderline patient though, especially the fluctuating sense of self and obvious need for emotional validation that you don't typically see in people who are "just" antisocial. The grandiose delusions of "I am uber h4x0r" could just come from upbringing or it could be part of her larger sense of narcissism and need for people to see her as competent. But I wouldn't say she is "just" a sociopath, that doesn't begin to cover it, she's really more a very fucked up microcosm of everything that can go wrong when a well connected mentally ill person is raised by /b/ culture.

Yeah, that’s the problem with nostalgia for a place and time you never lived, you really don’t understand the nuances of it.

The reason stuff could get so crazy back then (and especially so on image boards) was entirely because of anonymity. That kind of depravity wasn’t on purpose, it was a byproduct of being fully disconnected from normal etiquette and the identity you had to drag around everywhere else. It’s what they could get away with when nobody was looking.

Somebody said it way better in the other thread, but zoomers are used to everything on the internet being done for infamy or clout.
