Rachel Maddow, who said Joy Ann Reid's insane time-traveling Russian hackers excuse never made her more proud of her, claimed that COVID vaccines worked like a shield and prevented you from getting or transmitting the virus, reported who knows how many blatantly false stories about Trump/Russia and has never once in her career critiqued fascism on the "left"?

And Michael Hobbes, a man who peddles so much disinformation that he blocks anyone who ever corrects or critiques it and spends all his time fanning moral panics?

I came back to this and realized I was too focused on Ben promoting disinformation peddlers like himself. What's actually more amusing is how it's yet another article where Ben talks about how ignorant of his field he is. This is the way media has been for as long as anyone can remember. And Ben's whole spiel about how people are waking up to the "keyfabe" and it's collapsing as people turn to other sources? First, also ignorant, nobody gave a shit about cable news except people in the media. Second, exactly what Trump and MAGA have been saying, including about Fox News, for how many years now? Congrats Ben, your "deep dive" into the "systemic forces" has yet again aligned you with Donald Trump.

Trump in 2015: "CNN is fake news."
Ben in 2023: "All of cable news [except me?] is fake news!"

To sum up, yeah crime is "objectively" plummeting - because it was insanely high to begin with. Let me make up some numbers to explain how stupid these people are.

Say every year there were 100 murders a year. Then 2020 rolls around and murders skyrocket to 1000 a year. It then doesn't do you any good to say "oh we only had 500 murders this year. Crime is objectively plummeting!" It's still WAY over the low point you moron.

They know that in the minds of the average person, outside of like, the DPRK, socialism and communism = Stalin and Mao, which = mass starvations, executions, and repressive governments. So they flip over from the authoritarian side of the political compass to the libertarian/anarchism side.

Also, socialist governments required everyone to work in the farms or factories, which is of course anathema to 99.99% of internet communists.
