He got ratio'd, meaning his tweet got more reactions than likes and retweets. It usually happens when the tweet holds an unpopular or dumb opinion. Some tweets go viral depending on engagement, it doesn't have to be the positive kind.

I actually saw that Tweet before the one he was responding to got deleted.

It was an NYT writer who only referred to zipties (read: not specifying the hand-cuff variety) and asked why anyone would own them. As in, a person who didn't understand that zipties are a common-ass household item among the plebs that handle their own cable management, gardening, etc. Before deleting, she even came back with a "oh shucks, I'm a bit of a dumb dumb" Tweet.
