Apologies if this has already been posted, I am unable to find it.

I use chrome mostly and since they have obliterated ublock and other adblockers my mind is spiraling from the brain-rot that are advertisements. What are the best alternative browsers that are similar to chrome that adblock works on?

Sorry for the autism.

Thank you <3

I've used Brave for like 2-3 years now and it's pretty good. You can use most extensions from Chrome and it hasn't pissed me off like Opera.

Some websites will throw a hissy fit mainly streaming services, but that's just reason 5,000 to just not use them lol.

The only problem is it's sync can be finnicky when you first add a device. You'll need to make sure you select everything you want to sync when you first start the sync (it is hidden by a dropdown menu and my dumbass forgets to open) or you'll need to resync.

Its mobile app also can use adblocker and play youtube videos in the background with one setting change.

I use Opera GX the browser for gaymers for casual browsing and it both comes with a very ineffective adblock of its own (ironic since the browser is itself one big ad) and lets you install whatever extension you want. Anything that worked on chrome works on opera.

Tor Browser is just a fork of Firefox so any adblock extension that works on that will work on Tor and I think it also comes with its own that works okay. Don't try googling Tor extensions though, every grognard will freak out at you about "browser fingerprinting".

So far Brave is uncontested for me, for desktop.

Haven't seen an ad on YouTube (on my computer) since years ago, barring one day when they tried to force feed people ads through new shenanigans, but they were defeated once again by the end of the week.

Librewolf with some de-schizoification tweaks for convenience. Make sure you go into uBlock and enable all filters except the regional ones (I've had some issues with them)

Cromite is a decent fork of Chrome that is based upon Bromite which has multiple privacy enhancements and features to protect against fingerprinting, also has a built-in adblocker that accepts AdBlock Plus filters

i use floorp, its a firefox fork made by some jap students, works fine

since no on else has mentioned it, brave browser

thanks ill check it out if brave ever becomes unsatisfactory

Can't go wrong with Vivaldi with uBlock Origin. They also have a built-in adblocker like Brave which lets you choose which filters to use but it's often blocked by youtube's anti-adblock; so I would stick with ubo. Also has a free vpn built in (free version of proton vpn).

I just use Firefox ESR (so I only have to deal with userChrome.css breaking bullshit once a year instead of once a month) with a bunch of about:config tweaks.

I've always just used Firefox Developer Edition and it works fine. Won't have to worry about the neutered version of uBO and with userChrome customizations you can get rid of a lot of the questionable UI decisions that Mozilla does. Better than having to deal with Chrome forks maybe or maybe not supporting MV2 adblockers in the future.

I just use Edge with adblock installed. It works fine mostly. I still kind of see an opening ad on YouTube but it like skips through most of the ad and ends pretty quick or I click skip ad when it pops up the end. I also have Fire Fox with adblock and Brave as well. Brave is the best and it comes with a built in adblcker that Google/YouTube haven't found a way around yet. I think it even blocks the ads on porn sites. Brave is built on Chrome I believe.

I recently switched from Firefox to Edge.

With Firefox (using adblock and VPN) I experienced some trouble, especially with watching videos on YouTube (ip block, other kind of shitty errors). Also, they came out with a ToS changes, telling me that they want to sell my data or some shit. So, I didnt have much reason to stay with Furefox.

Brave simply never gave me any issues so far.
