I have a soft spot for Jim Dale (narrated the Harry Potter books in the USA most famously). He also (sort-of) lead to the insane "Dirty Potter" YTPs (?) on early YouTube:

Ron McLarty, who narrated "Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas" in 2005 sounds like an energetic lovechild of Casey Kasem and Hans Moleman. It made an already entertaining book into something hysterical. I think @AnOminous will know and respect this:

“What the fuck are we doing out here on this desert?” he shouted. “Somebody call the police! We need help!” (linked at specific time of this quote)

Pablo Schreiber did a great American Psycho reading, nothing fancy but I like his voice and his impression of a gay man is hysterical

Jim Dale is undoubtedly the best Audiobook narrator. Dale's narration of Harry Potter audiobooks makes the sound more alive, the voices more realistic and the story more enjoyable. According to __% of the readers surveyed Dale was the most preferred narrator. Dale is the best because he mimics all the voices of his characters, he does not hesitate to make all the characters sound like a male or female. He also emphasizes on the tone of the story. Dale makes everything sound very interesting.

Never really had a preference; but Christopher Lee reading "The Children of Hurin" stands out to me.
