Best game trailers




Some of my faves. Old-ass games but I remember the hype.
 
Never played it and never liked capeshit, but I always thought this was extremely well done a decade ago

 
I always questioned the music choices for these trailers, but they really sold the idea that we were witnessing a total war between giant robots and just what scale of battle to expect from the story. It helps that the game turned out really well in the end.

Viklund's music continues to be my favorite thing about Payday, what an absolute legend.
 
Basically a thread for any trailer that you liked or disliked that really stuck with you and/or left an impression. My pick for one on the positive side of the spectrum is the initial trailer for No More Heroes 2.

this trailer (especially around 2:50) made me so much more emotional than the entirety of the game's actual story.

most trailers aren't great, but there are a few that have really stood out to me.

BPM: Bullets Per Minute
now THIS is how you do a trailer for a rhythm game.

Hellblade II: Senua's Sacrifice
don't wanna pick trailers just because i like the song... but Heilung is an exception. plus, hot damn that facial animation.

Alien
the trailer really tells you basically nothing about the movie, but it's so intense i feel like it absolutely captures the tone of it.

Halo 3 - Believe
can't forget the classics

We Went Back
and one from the other end of the spectrum... while i wouldn't call this trailer outright bad, it completely ruins everything it sets up, all in about 10 seconds. i'm still salty because it had so much potential and i love sci-fi horror.

The Mad World trailer for the original Gears of War always stood out to me:

Also, the 'Go to Hell' Super Bowl ad for Dantes Inferno with Ain't No Sunshine. RIP Billy Withers

Don't remember what demo disc featured it (I want to say Tomb Raider 2) but I could never forget this trailer for Thief: The Dark Project.

I really enjoyed the Death Stranding E3 trailer.

Whatever you thought about the actual game, the marketing was awesome & conveyed a real sense of mystery & just plain weirdness that really made a lot of people wanna play the game to figure out what the fuck was going on.
