Best of This is How You Don't Play's - What is the best TIHYDPs?

Completely agreed. Sometimes I'll watch one for a game I never played, and think that maybe Phil is right about certain things. Then I'll watch one of a game I've played, and he'll get stuck in something I didn't even think was possible to be stuck in, or he'll be confused by something that is completely obvious.
His fight against Request Yaksini in the Persona 5 TIHYDP physically hurt to watch. Spams Physical hits while the game screams RESIST, then wastes two Beads because he's afraid of her Charge + Oni-Kagura combo.
That whole playthrough is a clear indicator of how bad he is at retaining information.

Hate to necro this thread, but were there any good TIHYDPs since 2018? The last moderately funny that I remember watching was this one.

Otherwise, Phil has been dreadfully boring. I haven't seen a decent TIHYDP in years.

I haven't watched this one yet, but it's short and made by Memology 101. He only produces quality.

Watching a bit of him (attempt to) play Crash Racing reminds me of one of the most putrid things about Phil: his exploitation of the frustration his paypigs feel witnessing him suck so much when he doesn't have to. All that fumbling around, accompanied by all that hand-holding that he has the nerve to basically charge people to submit to him. Fucking disgusting and pathetic how he gets his funding for collecting wrestling jpegs.

There are good TIHYDPs of Nioh 2 and Resident Evil 3, but there are problems that stop me recommending them.

The Nioh 2 playthrough is 10 hours long. As a result, it's draining to watch. Someone with editing skill could likely edit it down to 1 or 2 hours of the best material and end up with something great. I do like how he covered the donation area with stats and his own jokes, and it is funny, but only in short bursts.

The Resident Evil 3 playthrough is an Outsyder video, and as such there's a lot of junk left in. It's worth watching just to see the boss fight where he refuses to play until someone tells him how to beat the boss.

These are good, but far from the quality of the Forza 3 or Resident Evil Remake videos from earlier in the thread.

Just clicked on a random timepoint in the Forza Horizon 3 video. Saw Phil attempting a drift zone with traction control on and not understanding why the car won't break traction. Yep, looks like a good one.

What's the angriest Phil has ever gotten at a game he was playing? Been watching him fail at old school platformers and for the most part he laughs off his mistakes. I want to see him legit, 1000% mad.

You need to go way back for that, as Phil has been receiving help from viewers for years, first from YouTube comments and later from chat. Watching games he can't cheese his way through is crucial as well. For those reasons, the Madden 2012 TIHYDP is great. He gets genuinely pissed at losing progress due to a game crash and spends about 40 minutes restarting the game he won over and over until his victory is basically guaranteed. Controller slams, calling gameplay "gay", hollering. It has it all.

Someone here already mentioned FIFA, but I think it's worth noting that his sports game coverage in general is absolute gold. Something about him is unable to comprehend that sometimes in team games a loss in inevitable.
This one's a personal favorite of mine just due to the raw anger he's able to output at a sports game. If you're impatient, I think everyone following Phil should at least watch the controller smash at 1:14:30

He legitimately loses his fucking mind and throws a bitch fit here during his 2nd playthrough of the Silent Hill 2 "HD Collection" when 'run away from Pyramid Head like a bitch and let Maria die because fuck her" turns out to be the wrong answer and causes the first of many 'Game Over's. He stares out his window for a full 40 seconds and then when he loads his save he has some weird freak-out because the save-screen popped up due to him frustratedly button mashing.
He spends the next 30 minutes yelling at chat that they are wrong about how to pass the encounter, and keeps shouting at chat about things that aren't happening because he's blind, until he finally actually executes exactly what chat has been telling him and passes the encounter. Phil then declares 'I think I did it? Yeah! I did it!'

Scarface starts out with him laughing at how the mission failed text is "You Fucked Up" in the game until he slowly starts progressively losing his mind and gets enraged whenever he sees it and yells "I DIDN'T FUCK UP YOU STUPID GAME!"

Already mentioned Scarface, he was so angry, that he had to ragequit and then threw the disc behind his couch.

GTA games, namely 3, Vice City, Liberty City stories, Vice City stories and San Andreas. He fails spectacularly and blames it all on the games.

Castlevania - Lords of Shadows. He got so angry, that he smashed his controller multiple times, making it unusable in the end.

The playthroughs that come to mind are the ones I mentioned in my “What do you think is the worst DSP playthrough?” thread. Sonic Adventure 2, Jak II, Spider-Man on PS1, and for a recent one, Donkey Kong 64. He gets pretty mad towards the end of Donkey Kong Country 2 and 3 as well.
Edit: I should also mention Phil vs. Deathstroke players in Injustice: Gods Among Us.

It occurs to me after sampling these suggestions that what I picture of Pissed Off Phil doesn't match the reality at all. I mean what I see, I would describe as "pissy", not "pissed off", you know? There are controller slams, but not enough oomph behind them. He yells, but not like the Ultimate Warrior when filming promos. It's barely more than when he's bitching about the vest streak these days. Phil at his angriest doesn't come close to what I'm like at my angriest. I actually scare people, and I'm not even a big guy. At all. lol

But I guess that's just what happens when a man doesn't have enough testosterone, and/or the mental capacity of a toddler. Also, he has never lived in an actual house since leaving that of his parents, so it's not like he even could let lose the way I do if that was his nature. Someone would yell at him, and we know he can't handle that.

I've noticed that his mood sours the most when he has to repeat a large section, especially if it's because what strategy he wanted to work is the exact opposite of what actually works. That, and getting his ass beat by a human opponent.
