Better Call Saul

lmao if you don't think Kim ends up dying because of some fuck up Jimmy is responsible for

Ernie eventually goes postal after getting fired. Vince does it again

Kim doesn't like shady Saul shit like the cake thing so she will just leave him after he does one of those things to get someone -himself?- off the hook.

I really like Kim. I think she's a much more well written female character than Skyler or any other female character was in Breaking Bad. You can tell they really got their asses in gear and probably saw how terrible the reception was to Skyler. Like, she was always just a one-dimensional nagging wife trope with no redeemable qualities or development whose scenes were mostly just filler. Kim on the other hand has actual depth and character development, she has more to do with the story than just complaining at Jimmy (and even when she does it's understandable because he's usually pulled some stupid shit) and has actual motivations outside of him (i.e. Mesa Verde). I'm going to be sad when some fucked up shit inevitably happens to her. She's just one of many reasons why I think Better Call Saul surpasses Breaking Bad.

Chuck plays by the rules and according to them, he's got it in the bag.
However, he has no idea what a sleaze big old Saul is.

I get the feeling that Chuck is laying yet another trap of some kind for Jimmy. It seemed too easy to get him to confess to the existence of the duplicate tape.

Even if he is trying to lay a trap, just confessing to the tape that Jimmy destroyed being the duplicate, even if it isn't, is enough for Jimmy to put a plan in action. Howard was there as a witness when he confessed that too which could be a great element of poetic justice. Apparently there are specific rules about what constitutes destruction of evidence or property when it comes to an original Vs. a duplicate copy, so it is reasonable to convince a judge that Jimmy knew he was destroying a copy especially since he talks about copies while he breaks it. But I think Chuck thinks he's won and doesn't expect Jimmy to go with a defense about the duplicate and use photos of Chuck's mental condition and possibly bring in his ex wife from the address book as a witness to Chuck's psychosis.

Is anyone else really beginning to sympathize with and like Gus after the latest episode? So far, his storyline is the most interesting this season IMO.

Gus is becoming a bit more of a tragic character to me now. It seems like his operation is more revolved around completely ruining Hector than it seemed to be in Breaking Bad. Originally it seemed like while he wanted revenge on Hector he mainly also wanted to be the top supplier in his business, whereas now it seems more like him overtaking Hector's business and making him look like nothing to Don Eladio and others is his top priority and being a success is a close second. It just makes it bittersweet because while he does win in a sense by completely destroying everything Hector ever created, Hector gets the last laugh.

Fun fact: in the last episode Jimmy mentions lung cancer. In Breaking Bad one of the main characters had lung cancer.

That show is fucking ON POINT this season

When Jimmy broke down in the insurance company office, I was like 'lol he's gonna try and scam her but then he started to talk about real shit happening in his life and he totally had me going. It wasn't until he mentioned Charles making mistakes that I realized oh shit, that's what's going on'.

Give Odenkirk all of the emmies

That was a great scene. Also really scummy even by Jimmy standards, but he had me thinking he was sincere for a minute or two there.

Everyone hates Chuck and Chuck is a complete asshole, but Chuck was basically right about Jimmy being a chimp with a machine gun. We know this from BB. Feel like everyone overlooks that.

I have a certain sympathy for Chuck. For one thing, he actually was right.

Of course, he's an insufferable asshole and just as conniving and vindictive as Jimmy.

McKean was the perfect choice.

So does Kim get killed this season?

I don't know, I didn't think it was really that scummy. Considering all his brother did and how he treated him all of his life, this is just Jimmy telling Chuck to go fuck himself. It's not like financially it's gonna be a hit on Chuck, that nigga must be filthy rich considering his position and career.
