Better Call Saul

Everyone hates Chuck and Chuck is a complete asshole, but Chuck was basically right about Jimmy being a chimp with a machine gun. We know this from BB. Feel like everyone overlooks that.

Nah fuck the guy.

Jimmy gave the good guy route an honest shot in the beginning, even though he still had his issues here and there. He could have easily stolen that gigantic sum of money from the kettlemans, but he decided to hand it back to the rightful owners. He also single handedly proved that the olds folks home was being ripped off big time, and yet Chuck still wouldn't give him an inch.

He only started doing bad things (ones that were actually serious) after he realized that his own brother was sabotaging him the entire time.

He still changes from the guy we know in BCS into the guy in BB who, when he is first hired by Walt and Jesse after Badger gets busted, basically just advises them to murder him.

Something really bad is going to happen to him.

If the last episode was any indication, it's already started.

The financial clock is ticking, and he just can't get a break doing things the honest way now that he has a 1 year restriction. That last scene when he sank into his chair after being told that his insurance costs were going to be raised 150% was likely the "well, fuck my entire life" moment. There was no benefit in exposing chucks illness to the insurance lady, it was purely to hurt chuck with huge price increases as well.

Worse is to come, that's for sure.

Nah I think Chuck will die this season, during a chimp out once he realises the insurance bods have bumped up his premiums due to Jimmy.

Kim will lose her job after Ken Wins recognises her or something I think.

But how does that hold up really from an ethical standpoint? "I was trying to be a good guy then my brother was an asshole so I became a white collar criminal" Chuck isnt responsible for Jimmys actions, Jimmy is. He may have screwed him over but he chose to react to that by becoming Saul.

Also we really dont know that much about who Jimmy used to be. Maybe it was obvious to someone who knew Jimmy like Chuck that this was going to be the outcome.

At the very least, he was a serial con artist with a number of brushes with the law, who tried to go legit.

People can be driven to terrible extreme over their emotions. Jealousy, hatred, revenge, etc... They've all been staples of classical literature for reasons easy enough to understand

Yes, Jimmy is ultimately the one responsible for the actions Jimmy did. No one is denying that. However, what pushed him to these circumstances is decades of abuse and scheming by his brother. Saul Goodman is ultimately Jimmy's reaction to his brother's betrayal and mistreatment. If Chuck hadn't been constantly undermining him or if he hadn't been giving him the cold shoulder, all of this rooted in childhood jealousy, then Jimmy might have never seen the need to embrace the Saul part of him.

Jimmy might have been the one who pulled the trigger, but Chuck is the one who brought the gun and the ammo and handed it to him

So can we talk about the episode that accidentally aired on mexican television on monday?

Those two music guys deserved everything they got, you don't reneg on a handshake agreement and then screw over a guy who gave you something for free.

These last two episodes just heavily pushed the point of "Why play entirely by the rules if it's just going to get you screwed over?"

God damn that was a good episode!

Good to see Jimmy clean those music twins up and tell the Community Service guy off, although I think Kim may end up pushing herself too far. I don't know what Chuck's up to, but I still see him dying this season. Hector will definitely have his stroke before too long as well.

Yeah it was a great fucking episode but lets not be huge dickheads and not use spoiler tags if we're gonna discuss it before it airs legally

I knew those guys were going to try to fuck Saul over anyway. Or rather, fuck him over even more than they already had. I like how even the minor douchebag characters are played well, like "Ken Wins" and "Fuck You and Your Eyebrows" Bogdan.

Let's hope so. I like this better than bb. I only started watching that because Bob Odenkirk was in it- I've been a fan of his since Mr. Show, and was excited that he was doing a bigger series. I was pretty disappointed he was only a bit player so I've loved this show so far.

Also, fuck Chuck. It's not that he's responsible for all of this, it's that his denial of his own crappy behavior, that self righteousness, really bugs me.

I have to say I was really happy that Chuck decided to fuck shit up at Hamlin & Hamlin

That's gonna force them to accept the settlement so they can pay Chuck to leave, which will give money to Jimmy (or he'll be screwed out of it by his brother) and it's gonna lead to a huge fucking blow up at the end of the finale I'm sure

Also I'm fairly sure Kim is dying this season I think we've gone to the end of where she can go as a character tbh
