Biggest bullshit in a video game

Who hasn't heard this rant a million times, but I'm sick of "diversity" in games. You can feel the virtue signalling and checklists being marked just looking at shit like this:

I can't stand the fucking expressions and designs of western game characters these days, they're constantly getting worse. Abby from TLOU is starting to look good by comparison already.

Can there be just one (1) game without an ugly dyke, a smug nigress, or some soyboys as the main cast? And if you do find one, like Nathan Drake, then he gets his ass whooped by characters like these.

It's like you have no choice but to weeb the fuck out, but I'm bored of anime looking games. All I can find instead is this cancer.

This may or may not have been mentioned before, but it's a personal bugbear of mine in an already... very flawed game. It may or may not also be a bug (as opposed to a design choice), so your mileage may vary, or something. I have no fucking idea with this game.

So anyway, Cyberpunk 2077 has a 'stealth mechanic'. You can sneak around and stealth-kill (or stealth-put-into-a-coma-forever-I-guess? It literally seems to have no effect on the game whatsoever whether or not you choose a lethal vs. non-lethal approach here, and it's not like they ever wake up and merrily go on their way, but I digress...) people so as to avoid drawing attention to your shenanigans. This is, of course, optional, in the sense that you can just go in guns blazing and murder people the old-fashioned way, if you prefer.

The problem is that the stealth system fucking blows for one very glaring reason: You have to dispose of bodies, and I don't mean in the way that you would in any other stealth game, which is to say that you might want to move the corpse over there and not just leave it over here, because an NPC might gain line of sight of it and therefore be alerted and in turn alert others. I mean that you literally have to place corpses/coma victims in boxes within a certain time period, or everyone on the map will automatically (and magically! maybe?) sense your presence... for no apparent reason whatsoever! Also, the boxes have a maximum occupancy, which is helpfully color-coded for your convenience (green means vacancy, red means no vacancy, just like real life!). You better fucking hope there aren't more NPC's on a given map than there are box slots for you to... awkwardly shove them into, fuckboy.

This could be entirely ignored if it wasn't for the fact that certain missions require you to not alert anyone to get the maximum reward (even if that reward is just not being called an incompetent fuck by whatever dipshit gave you the mission in the first place... but usually also more money, so there is that). The retarded mechanic above makes stealth a goddamn chore in this game, which is the main (but certainly not only) reason I stopped playing it, because fuck that shit.

Edit: I just remembered more bullshit about this mechanic (feel free to skip this, it's just me whining some more about the stealth... also may contain a mild spoiler for like the first hour of the game):

The very first "Big Quest" that you do, i.e. the heist at Arasaka tower, makes a big deal in the preamble dialogue (of which there is a fuckload) about how you're not supposed to get caught and how you shouldn't kill anyone if you can avoid it), so naturally you'd assume you're supposed to be stealthy, but THERE LITERALLY AREN'T MAGIC BOXES TO PUT DUDES INTO IN THE ENTIRETY OF THE TOWER, so you're fucked either way. You'll be detected randomly just because fuck you, that's why. Obviously it doesn't matter because that mission goes tits up regardless of what you do, but if you're playing the game for the first time, you don't know that and you'd assume you'd be rewarded or get an achievement for doing it 'stealthily'. I must have reloaded about a hundred times the first time I played, because I assumed that the random detection thing was a bug. Nope. Massive waste of time.

Another stupid thing: there's a take-down move you can do that saves you about a half second where you can kill/incapacitate an enemy while also placing them in the magic box at the same time (wow!). Unfortunately this deletes them from existence, meaning the loot they had on them is now gone and you cannot access it, ever. Good job, idiot.

Man, fuck this game.
Metro 2033 and last light (didnt play last one) have simillar problems with stealth especially first one. Enemies are hivemind. You get stun and kill button that only change animation but do same thing.
There is karma system. First problem is unless you look into save file you will have no idea how much you have.
Problem two is you get negative karma for killing humans. And human enemies are either bandits, 4th Reich they are killing all non Russians and those who they consider mutants and Red line Commies that used biological weapons against neutral settlement that was only minding its own business. You are monster for killing these guys. /sneed
And only non lethal way to get rid of enemies is stealth knockout.

There's a reason why games use fixed lighting for cutscenes. GTA: Definitive Edition removes that for reasons. Therefore, cutscenes are dark.

The fire salamanders in Dark Souls 2. It feels like they're monsters designed for another game (ie. Monster Hunter) with the way they move and attack. Their damage output is high af, they are damage sponge, they can't stagger, and if you have a summoned ally with you and you think you can hit them in the back while they're focusing your ally, think again. Their tail will hit you. And then the 900 souls they drop is like spit in the face.

The pyromancers in shrine of amana (also Souls 2) have infinite spell uses and just spam AoE and fast spells. They're not so bad in 1v1 but there's a place with two of them at once and they overhelm your ass. Be careful because there's a npc nearby. They don't seem to be able to hit her, but you can. Fuck this shit.

And fuck all the statues they added in the SoftFS version. It's one thing to rearrange the game and item locations a bit, it's another to block your way with some stupid petrified nobody that somehow almost always end up blocking a path, or treasure chest. It just puts a halt to your excitement of discovering something and it forces you to remember to return later when you get some stupid tree branch.

I dont know if I got a bad ending but I play the game like a tactical shooter. What pisses me off is that I've had to restart the chapters with the skinless dogs cause I dont got enough anmo to Surrive.

The NPC opponents in Witcher 3's Gwent minigame shamelessly cheat, it's especially blatant at the highest difficulties. You can actually see this in real time if you use the Nilfgardian deck's special ability to look at their hand they will almost always have the exact cards needed to counter whatever you're currently holding.

I've played every Yu-Gi-Oh game including Forbidden Memories which is infamous for NPC bullshit and it's still bad.

Might as well just say everything. The game is running at 30fps, and uses a typical movie orchestral epic soundtrack instead of the unique tunes of the series.
Insomniac released a 60FPS patch on PS5. Motion blur is still distracting.

It's a whole lot of luck... lots of saving and reloading. Having a lot of cards and exploiting spies+medics seems to help a lot. I also tried to get every card possible before doing major quests.

The worst parts are when you don't have a chance to save inbetween games in the tournament quests. Or when the CPU monster decks overwhelm you by spawning a ton of the same card then using a horn to double their score. Monster is practically useless to play too because the CPU always has way more cards than you get until much later in the game.

The biggest bullshit in TW3 is definitely the inventory limit coupled with the low amount of cash that most merchants have available. Trying to grind for $$$ or completing all of the points of interest was mostly trying to find a merchant who could buy all of my shit instead of playing the actual fucking game.

For games that try to push stealth (in the human parts anyway) the stealth is fucking awful in these games. One of my biggest annoyances was every enemy on the map knowing exactly where you are with pinpoint accuracy if you make the slightest misstep. Sure, that guy half a mile away knew exactly where I was in this pitch black cavern. Seems legit.

Sony refusing to even acknowledge PS3 backwards compatibility. That generation is going to die out with the direction Sony's currently going.
There've been rumors of them working towards improving their emulation capability, so PS3 games might become fully backwards compatible at some point. I can't see them maintaining their PS3 servers forever, and enthusiasts have been making strides in emulating them on PC, so I can see emulated PS3 games get added to PS Plus.

I like most of the Borderlands DLCs and so on...but one thing that really pissed me off is the fight with the Badassasaurus Rex in the Badass Crater of Badassatude DLC for Borderlands 2. It has four weak points that you can take down half of its life bar with, but then after that, it just becomes a long slog as your guns take nearly forever to chip away at its remaining health and of course its armor has reflect. The only way to win is to stand behind the barrier in the doorway and go buy ammunition from time to time.

Also, I like Darkest Dungeon, and I have no problem with its difficulty, BUT...I really hate it that the Final Boss has the attack "Come Unto Your Maker" that forces you to kill two of your characters outright in a game with permadeath. If you are going to have permadeath in a game, it is a really bad design for an enemy to have an unavoidable guaranteed kill attack instead of it being subject to the same resistances or RNGs as everything else.

Just grab a ton of plague doctors and a leper/highwayman to buff enough for an instakill.

The giant memories in Dark Souls 2.

The smaller, faster giants deals somewhere between 60 and 80% of my max hp. The taller, slower giants deals about 15 to 50% of my max hp. It's like there's no fixed damage they do with their attacks. One attack can do X amount, and the same exact attack will deal twice that amount for absolutely no reason. Also why are the small giants stronger? Why is the enemy that's slower and more predictable also weaker in power?

I hit them either for 75% of their hp, or 49,9%, again with the same attacks. I know the game has some bonus damage if you hit someone in the middle of an action, but it's never that big of a bonus and it doesn't seem to be bonus damage. Basically, I either kill them in 2-3 hits but I'm never sure if 2 hits will be enough. They can survive with that empty lifebar like they have a microscopic sliver of health left.

Some of their attacks can phase through you, for no reason. Some of their attacks can ignore your shield and pretend you didn't block, for no reason. Some of their attacks can kill you in one hit, for no reason.

One giant throws flaming rocks that do 90% of max hp and knocks you down. it doesn't matter if you spam dodge roll to get away as soon as possible, because the instant you start getting up, it's like the giant knows, and he throws a perfectly timed rock right when your invincibility frames stops but right before you are able to roll.

The entire levels are really unfair and unbalanced, and seems to be very luck-based.

Also in the lore, the kingdom of Drangleic has been in a war with the giants for at least three generations. You can see soldiers fighting them in the streets. But if you show up, they stop fighting and immediately gang up on you. They have friendly fire but what the actual fuck??

The last one happens in other games too. Hey let's stop fighting to kill that motherfucker. That's bullshit if I've ever seen it.
