This game has been in development for 6 or 7 years, and got crowdfunded back in 2020. Plushies and jerking off to your OCs are bigger priorities than releasing your own fucking game.

They're still not done with the Barnaby chase sequence.
This entire fucking game is just gonna be this guy, isn't it?
It gets better: they're planning disc-locked content:

There are builds on their Patreon, but you have to support their grift over there.

Did remember about it years ago. It looked cool but it didn't attract much of my attention, a musical crash bandicoot chase part is fun 2 second but this one drag and drag, and the musical is more on the cringe side... Saw a updated version recently.. , a developing game that praised and worked one should have more.. nope just another wip boss fight that dosen't look that good. I think the clear lack of development to a functional game is more outragous than the lgbtq+ shit force fed into it

Is it wrong that I think the game would be amazing if they only took out all of the LGBTQ/neurodiversity shit and actually finished shit in a timely manner?

I have been keeping track of this game here and there for a year or so because a friend of mine talked about it. It honestly almost feels like the game isn't actually getting developed. Like there may be builds but its to keep the hype going for a game that I feel will never come out. Promoting the characters by making plushies defiantly seems like to be their priority because I have a feeling the game will not sell well. I honestly will be shocked if it ever comes out.

I also see these "updated" versions hit my feed from time to time and I honestly don't see any differences most of the time. The only exception being the Barnaby chase this last time around.

I don't really like the idea that a game that isn't even out yet/isn't done being developed, already has a line up of DLC. I can see maybe minor things like an exclusive skin for donating but not entire levels and stuff. I am bit more old school and like my older games that didn't rely on DLC and just tried to cram everything they could think of to do on the first release to make it good and then maybe have DLC if they think of something after the game is shipped out.

The demand just isn’t there. I think, in the back of their minds, they know that. That’s why Billie’s devs are pushing Barnaby so hard, that’s their main selling point. Now a musical boss run sounds fun on paper. You can even have furries, that’s what Disney did, but the writing just isn’t good. The devs’ ideas don’t mesh with each other and it comes out a candy-colors-in-a-muted-world Hazbin mess. It’s not cohesive. Even A Hat in Time had design concepts and better “bad guys that aren’t” theming stringing it together. Unfortunately they hyperfocus on Barnaby since he’s the most fleshed out out of all of them.

the cutscene are cringe so even if we remove the lgbtq thing this won't save the game
I think they can’t piece their ideas together coherently. They can’t put things out in a timely manner because they have no idea what to do. They put less thought into the overall story than the pronouns and sexualities, and it shows. If they did, it wouldn’t take this long.

I can only imagine what it would be like if the same thing that happened to Goodbye Volcano High, happened to Billie Bust Up.

A bunch of trolls decide to "finish the game" before the developers do.
I think part of the reason why GBVH had 4chan's interest to begin with, outside of the fact it was a game sony was heavily pushing, was due to the character designs. I'd get why someone would want to make them better looking, because in GBVH they look too safe and plain and the non-binary gay sjw shit makes them worse for obvious reasons. Dinosaurs are supposed to be badass looking, and the only reason why you'd make them "safe" looking is if you're advertising to little preschoolers, which GBVH is most certainly not (although their audience IS mentally handicapped)

I don't think you can say the same thing about Billie Bust Up. I don't think a single soul gives a shit about the game in general, let alone the character designs.

The sad truth is that a goat platformer is just Spyro without the fire breathing and gliding.

Also there's a perfectly fine Happy Wheels level based on this concept.

It's grifting 101. Announcing disc-locked content before your game comes out is a very bad move whether or not the game is woke. They were tooting about Doobus Goobus being one of the characters (a gay cat), but not even that lazyw, whiny sjw faggot can help the game with his shitty voice acting. They should be lucky their backers are furry idiots.

It looks like a PS3 game, and they just cancelled the Switch version. That's not a good sign. Keep in mind Humble Games, the company the BBU team is tied to, went through layoffs last summer.

This. It's like a bunch of furries and bronies wanted to make a game like Crash Bandicoot and 3D Mario, but identity politics, TDS/EDS, ripping off other popular shit like Hazbin and Digital Circus, and gay-commie shit became a bigger priority. Not even Billie and her gay Axolotal buddy are fleshed out enough to care about their gay, commie adventure. The big bad doesn't seem like a big bad (if Fantoccio is supposed to be the big bad). When a fictional character's sexual preference and pronouns are more fleshed out than the story, something is very wrong. They even got a "popular" Youtuber animator involved, and no one out of the backers really gives a shit about this game.

Out of the loop a little with this game, but it feels like all they’ve been doing for the past few years is continuously remake one boss fight repeatedly.

Mainly because Barnaby is the only interesting character in the entire game.

When we put it that way, it's kind of naive for me to believe that the game ever had potential in the first place if they're going to hyperfixate on him alone.

The thing about a musical game is that you need people with serious musical chops for the soundtrack even independent of the mechanics of making it work. One catchy song (that's honestly just a worse version of I Can't Decide) won't cut it, wordplay not intended.
Now if this game were the genre-hopping adventure platformer artists from all over the place (and maybe it is idk) I'd play the Giorgio/Haken/Ruby Suns/Thundercat/Cosmo Shelldrake album I never knew I wanted. I have no idea what that would sound like, but I'd be willing to find out.
